Worth noting that the PSX and XBox both had numerous revisions of internals over their lifetime.
The PSX must have had 5 different PCB changes before going to the smaller white one. It made chipping them increasingly fiddly.
Xbox was a dream to mod though.

The shape and direction the cd/laser bit was in the psx changed a few times which is annoying cause it can get in the way if you get a few broken ones and think you'll try and Hodge podge them together.

I remember there being certain Drives for the Xbox that were considered better and more desirable.

I would love to have an actual PSX.

Just a shame they're all prone to drive issues and expensive as strawberry float now.

Yeah I got offered a proper PSX at one point as in the machine your on about but it was sold with issues, it was like £250 and not properly working so I thought ermmm no, it showed on screen but wouldn't load games or memory cards so I thought well this is just a sinking ship to keep throwing cash at and walked away. I assume there even more now.

Not sure if this is the right place, but just finished Rockman 1-6 (played the Japanese versions, not sure if there's a difference). Never completed a Megaman game until now and I'm somewhat hooked. I finished it on the collections on Steam so I made liberal use of save states, but damn every single game was fun. The music of course is a massive bonus, but I loved this mix of Wily's theme from Rockman 2 on Rockman 6

This is a remix, but damn this song slapped as well.

Got my Japanese SNES cart today it was a loose cart of Goemon 3 (AKA Legend of the mystical Ninja 3) cost me £9 including postage, I wish I knew there were so many games in this series as a kid.

Nice pick-up, kerr! Yeah, I hadn't realised quite how many Goeman games were released in Japan, with only a few making it to the UK/Europe. The Japanese versions seem to be far more reasonably priced, too.

Picked up a Super Gameboy for about 12 squids, sold as 'not tested' and a bit grubby, but looking forward to seeing if it works!

I'm hoping to mod it with a new oscillator so it runs at the right clock speed, maybe even add a link port if I'm feeling saucy.

I bet it works, never seen or even heard of a broken one.

I couldn't get it to work initially, but it turns out it wasn't sitting properly in the slot because it's so top heavy, so the contacts weren't making proper, er, contact.

I've wedged a bit of paper in the front of the cartridge slot, and it's working great! :toot:

I was looking at my modded ones last weekend (I've packed them away for now), and they really are beautiful. The dmg style one in particular is so nice.

Looking for IPS screens and cases, where did you get yours from, and what did you pick up?

Finished Zelda Oracle of Ages earlier. Such an underrated pair of games. Just starting Seasons now with my linked password.

These would do well with the link’s awakening remastered treatment
