Ever since I modded my Gameboys, I've had the urge to mod everything that isn't nailed down.

I've been looking at doing my SNES, but the only place I can find the SuperCIC boards that ship to the UK is on eBay, and for the price I may as well buy a new SNES that's already been done.

I know exactly what you mean, it's so addictive. I was looking at building a coffee table arcade machine the other day, and then just snapped out of it thinking what the strawberry float am I doing, I've got a little arcade machine already and I don't even play that :fp:

Ooh! Would that be one of the "cocktail cabinet" type of units, Ad? It's my dream to own one of those!

Something like this:

Yes exactly that. Years ago we were on holiday and the bar had a ms. Pacman one of those as a bar table, so we just sat and spend the whole night getting pissed and playing pacman while we chatted. It was brilliant.

That's great stuff, man!

When I was at secondary school there was a place I used to get my hair cut on the way home and they had a cocktail cabinet that played Pengo, the old Sega game. I always used to stick a few ten pences in whilst waiting :-).

I had a clone of that game on my Amstrad. It was on an Amstrad action cover tape.

I know what you guys mean, I keep watching youtube videos of the gbc funnyplaying ips mod and I want it but I don't even have any physical carts! It just seems ridiculously good.

It's like building a good Lego set for me, the fun is in the construction not the finished article.

Here's a project for you then:

Satisfying to watching but I just don't think I have the dexterity to do that level of soldering.

What I'm hearing is, "I want an ips modded Gameboy and also an Everdrive" ;)

I have one of those retro handhelds that can run retroarch and I’m very happy with it and the utility of multiple systems on one device. But there’s something about original hardware. Like I personally can’t tell the difference between emulation and the real thing lag wise but these modded screens just look COOL.

Deep dark hole to fall down. Maybe for a birthday.

If you want a more reasonably priced Everdrive equivalent for the GB/GBC the EZ Flash Jr is well worth a look. You can find them on eBay and other sites for around £30 to £40.

It's what I'm using for mine and it's great.

Yeah it's worth a look. GBA equivalent is the EZ Flash Omega DE (Definitive Edition) and is again a good bit cheaper than the Everdrive equivalent.

Both work great in Super Game Boy and Game Boy Player as well.

Does the GBA one only do GBA games or all gameboy? I have lots of games but like these kinds of devices to have a all in one cart to take around.

I believe the GBA one does GB/C games via an emulator called Goomba.

Anyone know if they work in an Analogue pocket? Asking for a friend. :shifty:

They should do from what I've read.

Bought this to use with my PC for retro games and loving it so far. Although it's been a while since I've used a SNES style pad so where it's resting on the inside of my fingers my hand feels a bit weird lol

Nice one, Qikz - those 8BitDo SN30 pads have a good rep.
