EA would definitely threaten legal action, even if its a now 26 year old game for an obsolete platform.

Personally, I would reflash a gooseberry fool game for my own use but probably not if I was then going to make a YT video about it.

Starting to worry a wee bit that none of my games have arrived yet that were bought last week. Fingers crossed I haven't just dropped £130 on nothing

Well the two reproduction games arrived there lighter and obviously fake to the trained eye but they work and it's interesting to see them, if I'd built my own I'd have gone for something a bit more interesting like a japanese rpg that ever came out over here with a translation patch on it

Good to know! I don't think I'd ever go for repro carts, but I may be tempted to grab a repro box or two a bit further down the line.

Took a pic of my carts tonight - picked up a set of PAL stickers so you can actually make out what each game is without me having to lay them down over about three pics. Got two or three more still to arrive, but getting there now, hit the 75% mark with the two that arrived today!

I like to get a few bootlegs and multi carts and the like just to look at and mess with.

I like those labels on the N64 carts I feel no top labels on them when compared to SNES games was a serious mistake, it really helps to see what they are. I dont have that many maybe 100 carts but maybe one day I will go that route with the top labels as I tend to keep them all as loose carts in a big plastic box.

Latest retrogamer is all about the 90s

There's a bit on megadrive rpgs, with the story of Thor and soleil both featuring (I have both), and soleil apparently goes for upwards of £85 these days! Mine is totally immaculate too (context).

Yeah it's a good issue, I got my customary 2 copies in the post again

I loved the spread (that's bait) about the different consoles/handhelds that were released in that decade, it's mad to think of the sheer volume of companies out there that were part of the home-gaming landscape, so many of them lost in time, like tears in rain.

I'll need to pick that up, I always forget to buy Retro Gamer.

Also, I dunno if anyone's interested but I've started running a stream every Thursday night where I play through and review an N64 game from the collection, starting from the worst and moving up. Tonight is at 5pm, and we're playing Chef's Luv Shack, a game which did not review well and is objectively shite but has inexplicably been given 83% in N64 Magazine.

I can't be around live for stuff but do you have an archive of these reviews?

The VODs are on the Twitch page for about a month after the broadcast!

What a great collection, Cora! I think that's 170-odd carts? A really comprehensive range... are you looking to get near to a complete set?

176 I think, with three more on their way(one turned up this morning! Cruis'n World!). I will, eventually, have a full set. There are 244 PAL releases, five of which are not generally counted as part of the full set(40 Winks, Snowboard Kids 2, Ken Griffey's Major League Baseball, HSV Adventure Racing [which is an AUS version of Beetle Adventure Racing!] and Starcraft 64).

So I'm...60 carts away. Some hard to find efforts in there though. It'll take a few more years, methinks.

That's impressive, Cora!

I've been away from the N64 collecting scene for a few years now but I recall that Cruis'n World was pretty tough to get; I got a nice condition boxed copy (just a small scrape on one side) for around £30 IIRC - but that was about ten years ago. I like the game, too - simple but very vibrant and fun to play!

Umm, if that's UKV and in good condition, could you let me know if you ever decide to sell it? I've been looking for eighteen months and never seen an English language boxed copy on sale on eBay.

Hee! Yeah, it's UK. I'd rather sell my body than my games and, to be fair, if things don't change then I am probably heading that way at the moment.

Some of the toughest-to-find "boxed, complete, great condition" pick-ups I recall from my N64 collecting days were Cruis'n World, Hexen 64, Kirby 64 and Bangai-O. Fighting Force 64 was tough, too, and I only have the cart.

It's 7 days unless you've set up Twitch Prime, something I should do for the GRcade account.

My Twitch Prime is set up, so for my account it's 28 days.

BTW, I think I found your name in N64 Magazine's bonus letters section the other day when I was reading through some old copies. Was it you?

The "I have a problem" bonus letter? Yes that was me

I wrote something about I saw some PS1 games in Woolies, and puzzled that the "graphics looked quite good". I named this "PS-itus" because I would be displeasing God Nintendo if I bought a PS1 game for my brother's system (I eventually got several). That literally is "The problem" they're referring to. So now you know. Mystery solved. :fp:

I was about 12 to be fair.

I also included some drawings they didn't publish, and lots of cheats for Banjo Kazooie and Tooie I just found on the Internet. I think that was their way of saying top marks for effort

Unfortunately I cut the car out of the front cover of that copy. Anyone up for a paid swap :fp:
