Decided I want a PC Engine mini so I'm currently chasing after one on ebay as I refuse to shop at Amazon. Trust Konami to give exclusive slaes right to them.

It's only now that I've looked at the games list again do I see just how good the selection is. In terms of avalibility of it's titles alone it is easily the best mini. The only other places to buy PC Engine games are Wii U Virtual Console and the Japanese PS3 store (and we all know what's about to happen to that). Even the arcade ports like R-Type and Gradius are worth having because they have console exclusive stages, something you can't say for the arcade ports that appeared on the other Mini's.

Never thought I'd see the day where I'd buy a mini but there you go. It's definately worth it based on reviews I've watched.

Oddly I own a TurboGrafx 16 with just one game - Ninja Spirit. Brilliant game from what I remember of playing it, I think it's included in the mini too.

Almost 100 notes is a lot for what is lets face it essentially a glorious bootleg, its not gone through Nintendo and had the board and cart ok'd by them so its a bootleg, yeah I have purchased the joe and mac 3 game cart and stuff like that which are also like official company bootlegs but I haven't got anything that's been anywhere near 100 notes, its just too much in my opinion for what it is.

Plays on US SNES only too

Having moved house I now have the box room as my own office. I'm planning on doubling it up as the retro room - I already have the portable CRT on the end of the desk with an N64 hooked up (I played a little Lylat Wars, turns out I'd never played the top route before), I just need to get some shelving and grab my other consoles from my parents house.

I say retro, it's going to be NES, N64, Dreamcast and Wii, so maybe best to call it the "SD" era? (As opposed to like, 2D era)

Yeah I noticed the play on USA SNES only too. It did make me wonder if this was just because they'd slapped it in a USA shaped cart or if there is actually any region protection in it..... I would imagine there is no region protection in it and its just the cart shape, that if you removed it and inserted the circuit board it would work but im never going to find out. I bet USA cart moulds were cheap or easier for them or something

NES, N64 Dreamcast and Wii? Dont you have a SNES or Megadrive lol sorry that's my bias that's my fave generation. I have to admit I have abandoned CRT and just play everything on a modern telly, I guess I am a Bad Retroer. Do You have Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast? If not I highly recommend that game

I prefer the CRT anyway but I absolutely need it for Duck Hunt!

My home consoles went NES -> N64 -> PS2 -> Wii, but the PS2 is all-but dead now so I need to get another. The NES was my first console only because it was a hand-me-down from an older cousin (I think when he got a megadrive) and the N64 came out when I was like 5 so that's why I missed the SNES/Megadrive generation. I do have a SNES mini though...

Dreamcast was a later purchase (I actually have two but the one I have here with me I have lost the power cable for annoyingly!). I've only got a handful of games - Chu Chu Rocket, Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure, Legacy of Kain and Skies of Arcadia. Never heard of Record of Lodoss War!

I grabbed the SNES mini, a NES mini, and the Playstation Mini my other half got me the megadrive mini and the PC Engine mini.

I actually have two SNES mini consoles one I keep in the box and one I mess around with, I have hacked it and messed with it and I am sure I will just keep on messing with it. I also messed with the playstation mini but all of the others are kept normal. I do wish I had grabbed a second hand Megadrive mini that I had seen in a pawn store for £40 just so I could mess with that too.

All this talk has inspired me to take another look at my hacked mini snes, far too much rubbish on there stuff I played to review and dont particularly even like, stuff thats semi translated that you can now get complete translations of. Only issue the PC I had all the software on is at my dads so going to restore the SNES back to factory and then re-hack it and put all the software on to this laptop to keep it in date and tinker with it.

These things are just stupidly inflated blind boxes / loot boxes. There's no rarity besides the artificially limited alternative colour, but I guess that's the same as packs of cards etc.

Only packs of cards aren't 100 strawberry floating pounds.

But we only made 1000 and added glitter to the mould!!!

I can make a strawberry floating mould right here, sure an injection moulding machine isn't going to come in under about £1000 but still that's big money when you introduce the scarcity aspect.

I'd rather just buy the cartridge.

Is it the same as the Mega Drive one. I thought it wasn't meant to be very good.

The SNES version was different to the Mega Drive one, same as Aladdin, but I don't know which version was the 'good' one.
