its as much about what the person wants to get you as it is what you want

I do think that a lot of the fun of the experience is from researching your victim and hopefully identifying something you think they'll love but would never have thought to ask for themselves.

I wonder whether the extra information could be held back initially or only provided on request (or included as a spoiler in the PM perhaps?) for those who want to go down a more traditional route?

I can spoiler that section for sure when I send out the victims, I always enjoyed researching my victim but I know last year it was requested by a few to add this in as some people are a lot more sparse/limited in what they post to give away too many hints etc.

A spoiler box is a good compromise.

Initially asking for likes was to avoid when a forum member is especially tricky to research or doesn't respond to a poke.

But a spoiler box leaves it to to the person. Good shout
