GRcade Sig-Swap Summer 08 Edition - Sigs are GO!

This was supposed to be happening tommorrow but eventually I couldn't wait. Some people (proto) have been so anxious that they've been begging me non-stop for the reveal like little bitches. So much so that I've lost all respect for them (him).

Well after 8 days here we are, the reveal of the GRcade Sig-Swap Summer 08 Edition! It's been a tense 8 days and although we haven't gotten all the sigs in we have managed to get a staggering 29! It's been a slog to get here. Through all the "I'm gooseberry fool can I use paint" and "I'm gooseberry fool gooseberry fool gooseberry fool gooseberry fool gooseberry fool" we've pulled through and now I can reveal everyone's hard work. This was supposed to be happening tommorrow but eventually I couldn't wait. Some people (proto) have been so anxious that they've been begging me non-stop for the reveal. Also I'd like to give a shout out to the returning founder of Sig-Swap, Mockmaster! After seeing this in action he decided to come back and oversee it. Yes, I brought Mocky back. Some of these need resizing so feel free to do it yourselves. I did a few but they were lost Right no more babble............

Unfortunately, I don't know jamcc very well, so I had to do a bit of snooping. Turns out his most visited topic was the car thread, which automatically got me thinking about traffic jams (couldn't make it up). After several attempts that were, somehow, even worse than this one, I fell upon this simple design that is elegant in its subtlety. Nobody will be image blocking this bad boy!

Not sure if you want some sort of history behind it but here it goes:

When I first found out that I had Forest as my sig-inspiration, I thought to myself 'Who the strawberry float is that?'. So I had to do a bit of digging both on here and on GR and found out that he only posted in two threads mainly; the Currently Listening To and Fitness thread. Both of which I very rarely posted in. However, upon further digging, I discovered that he was very in to his music so i used that as a base for the sig. I checked out his last.fm profile and looked at some of the bands he listened to. I then searched for their respective album art pieces on Google and whacked it all together in paint. If you'd like just the top half of the sig Forest I can happily give it to you.

Hey Rog,
I just googled Diablo Rojo and came across the little cartoon lady. It was just a matter of copying and pasting the background, to widen the picture, and then stick in some snazzy text. Thought it came out pretty well for 20mins work.

madness is a hard to please guy. Hes the epitome of the modern cosmopolitan man. He doesnt have time to mess about with lame signatures, hes too busy clsoing that deal with financo corp, or dining with a beautiful woman on the french riviera. Thats whay i felt that madness deserved this signature, based around the batman comic 'the long halloween', which i know he liked. also, this is my second time being paired with madness in a sigswop! enjoy!

About the sig:

Although I knew very little about PsychicSykes I still believe this is my best effort to date; I'm particularly proud of my use of the spray paint tool and the seamless incorporation of Sonic in to the picture. The combination of Sonic and football stems from PsychicSykes loves of football (it's his most posted in topic) and his SuperSonic avatar. The GRcade banner was added for no reason but I think it looks swell.

If only he had those skills in the last sig-swap!

Description: To be fair I wasn't even sure what I should make for Joer, I tried making one with Rock Band as that seems to be his favourite game, then Wind Waker Link. Can't get decent sig out of these especially I only have Paint.NET now.

Then I noticed he liked Metallica and I remembered that CD boxart of graveyard, and I seem thought it was cool..so I used that along Metallica logo (the spiky icon after Joer's name on it.)

It is pretty simple & lazy copy&paste job, which I feel bad for, but I only can hope Joer likes it and I'll have to make sure to do better on next SigSwap.

Well my plan all along when I saw I had SevenFisher was to make a gif, which gradually shows different parts of him from THAT thong picture he posted. But I couldn't find that anywhere so had to make something quickly before I went out.

Just like I promised, I used Photoshop for the first time ever and it didn't really end well. Although I do quite like that font. It seems familiar.

So I present to you... ceiling fisher! I love my great cropping skills...

Rightio, heres my Sig I made for Smurphy, via MS Paint. It's awful I know .

Well first theres Smurphy's GR/GRcade avatar of course, and since he's the creator of The Chat Room Thread on GRcade, I thought him saying some random l33t sp34k would be appropriate.. Next, I know that Smurphy's a PC Gamer, so theres the most well known PC Gamer in the world in there, The Angry German Kid. Oh and one of smurphy's favorite Films is "The Thing" according to GR, so theres one of the nasties from the Film. Finally, theres the background. I don't why know I chose the Color Blue though. Maybe I remember Smurphy saying he felt blue one time or something >__<.

Unfortunately, I do not know Mr A J Styles particularly well. However, I had a read through some of his previous posts and discovered that he wants to get back into comics. Someone suggested Batman comics, so I went with a Batman theme. I thought I'd also give it a Pilchy flavour, so, as I like the Catchphrase thread, I made a little mini catchprase within the sig. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out what it represents!

That's a good size I think Pilch. Even though you can tell it's been transmogrified during the bipolarisation of the industrial global warming initiative.

Well, I made this sig for Noes because he looks 30, but is infact 21, so I'm always saying on MSN that he looks 30, and it winds him up.
So hopfully with this, people will mistake the sig for a genuine 30th birthday announcement and make threads for him and stuff
And I used one of his pictures from Facebook to add a personal touch.

I've never really had any contact or interaction with Lewis before, so to be frank, I knew nothing about it. I considered scouring his posts to get an idea of his character, but he only had about six anyway. Therefore, I decided to push the boundaries of creativity and human thinking and conjure up this piece. Essentially, all I did was Google 'Lewis', 'LewisD' and 'Lewis Docherty', save some image and stick them all together into one larger image. I think it turned out pretty strawberry floating sweet, what say you Lewis? Happy birthday man, enjoy it.

And now to end we have a REVELATION!

Also, I should explain the picture of myself and the "related to" line.
Well.. not many people know this, but myself and Doug are related. My old man must've had his way with Doug's mother about 22 years back, and so we're half-brothers.
The picture you can see there is a picture from when we met for the first time in Febuary. It was quite an emotional meetup, and it also explains our similarities, namely the blatent racism. You can definitely see the family resemblance!

So this sig is for Henke, my brother!
