Mocky has stated that that is one concession he's willing to allow, purely for the purposes of documentation.

Then congratulations! o/

I would never be able to do this. The closest I would actually get would be spending a day out on a local farm with my metal detector.

Congrats Banjo! Task Complete and an entertaining report, to boot.

You seem to have showed remarkable endeavour and spontaneity in undertaking this challenge. I get the impression you felt it was a worthwhile and memorable experience, and that was the point of the task, so in that sense, it was a success. Congrats again!

EDIT: And you also pulled.

Yes, I took the time to stop and smell the roses, so to speak. It was most entertaining, and made a refreshing change of pace. I eagerly look forward to next week's Task, consider me dedicated to the cause.

Got a text off the bird as well, asking whether this is just going to be a sex thing or whether there could be something more. Think I could be into soemthing good here chaps. Thing is, I don't really like her!

Christ, I'm a wanker.

Short of actually going off to live in the wild for the next 24 hours, catching my own food and perhaps sleeping in a cave, it's going to be quite tough to top Banjo's adventure. Stay tuned for my riveting account of how I wander forlornly round the local rec for ten minutes before hastily backing away from an old man who tries to engage me in conversation about the weather.

Reporting in, No photos unfortunately.

I tried, But ultimately failed.

Like Banjo, I usually awaken around 11, So typically I got up at 9. I sat around in bed for an hour daydreaming, got up read the paper. Went for a walk which lasted about 40 mins, Bought a sausage roll for breakfast, Continued my walk for another hour or so. Got back home and just had a chillout, was really craving a brew at ths point.

Now here comes the failure. My parents are on holiday and it was my dads birthday the ither day, so I had to get him a present for when he gets back. I looked in catalogues and walked to some local shops on my morning walk, But to no avail. So ultimately, I had to look on the internet.

Although I failed; throughout the rest of the day, I barely used the internet and didnt watch TV, So it was a hollow kind of semi victory.

I tried Mockmaster, But failed. It was fun anyway. Look forward to next weeks task.

Sorry, Mockmaster: I have failed. I was doing so well too. :(

Woke up later than usual (12ish) and spent most of the day playing football with mates and walked back to my house, which is the first time in a long time - I even caught a glimpse of a strange flying mechanical bird in the sky. Once home, I decided to get started with Batman: Year One but then my phone rang (I stupidly forgot to turn it off the night before) and just out habit, picked it up. I even gave out a loud "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" down the phone much to the bemusement of a friend on the other end.

This was my only day to realistically complete this task.

It defeats the object really. Unless the transport is a skateboard or bicycle or boat or horse or running. However if your plans will be so impinged by lack of transport that it makes the task undoable to the point you aren't even going to attempt it, I will allow leeway, as long as you still uphold the spirit of the task. But maybe you should ask yourself if blocking out transport is such a disabling factor or if your mind is closing off the possibilities for adventure.

If we're counting transport, I've actually done this before. I walked the canal near my house from a mate's in Cumbernauld to my own house in June, but we had to get the train there. Stopped off at several pubs along the way, and retired to bed absolutely knackered after walking 15 miles+ in a day.

 I feel bad for you Poncho. But you should have turned your phone off.

Still, you gave it a good try.

Falsey, it's too bad that in the end, it was the internet that did for you.

I wonder how thousand yard stare got on...

Right, out of sheer bloody-mindedness I did this. The morning was alright, I live quite close to a country park so I walked up there and had a wander round for a bit, see the photos below, chosen for illustrative purposes rather than artistic merit:

A fisherman.

A moody vista.

A church.

A felled tree, leading pleasingly into the Hamble river.

A pair of deer!

I managed to get another shot, then they ran off.

However, when I looked back, I could see the deer were stood at the top of the hill watching me. I managed to get one more shot before they disappeared.

Then I got home, had a bath, did a bit of reading and tried to come up with some writing ideas which are probably not of that much interest - my first idea was so bad that I refuse to include it here, but I also thought of doing a sitcom called Ghost, about a guy who ghost-writes celebrity autobiographies, every ep starts off with him interviewing a different celeb and trying in vain to get useable material out of them. I thought of a story for the first episode too.

I also thought of doing a freaky Old Boy meets Twin Peaks thing, where a modern art museum like the Tate Modern has been turned into a prison, the captives don't know why they've been imprisoned, there's a makeshift assault course littered with corpses; I feel a bit embarrassed typing it up here but maybe it can evolve into something, ya never know. I also came up with some other ideas so the exercise was useful in that I did a bit of thinking, but with all that time on my hands I should have probably tried to write some script pages. Lazy strawberry floater.

Anyway, by the evening I was desperate to fart around on the internet or watch a bit of telly or at least have a cup of coffee, but somehow I managed to stay strong - partly aided by deciding to go to bed at about 10 pm... Still, I did some stuff I probably wouldn't have got around to if I didn't have a lack of tech in my life, and I enjoyed the country park. Strikes me this is written in quite a downbeat style - I actually did enjoy the exercise up to a point, if I had been doing this for a TV show I'd probably say something trite like 'it really brings home to me how dependent we've become on modern technology to live our lives', but the truth is I already knew that.

It's bizarre, I seemingly attempt to do anything if Mockmaster suggests it.
