Having to move the stag do dates because people now can't make it for one reason or another. Ryanair seem to not believe in cancellation so pick some dates to see how much it would cost to rearrange for 5 people.

£600!

Like, what's even the point?

Just watched this and some other road trip videos on your channel. I thought you must drive a monster truck because the perspective was so high, but then I realised you were on a coach :slol:

Good stuff.

Glad you like, and yeah, i mainly use coach travel services as they're cheaper than the railways.

Vermi have you thought about getting a little monopod to brace your camera while you film? You get quite a lot of handheld shake going and it'd help. Not a critisism, just something I noticed on your Windsor one.

Perhaps, but i normally have too much to carry around as it is, and while something like that would help steady the camera, it's not really very practical (using such things also increases the risk of getting kicked out of some locations such as gift shops and the like).

What camera do you use to film with Vermi? If you're using a recent smartphone or digital camera you might be able to enable some form of image stabilisation option. Otherwise you could always film things with a wider frame and then apply a stabilisation pass as a post filming step?

I've read the comments from his fellow travellers. There is Vermi, up the back of the bus, necking bottles of Blue Nun and Black Tower. Shouting and heckling (this explains the use of music, it drowns out the swearing), mooning out the back window at BMW drivers. Rivers of piss flowing down the bus under heavy braking. No wonder he's got the shakes. ;)

Ok, I've bitten the bullet and booked the ferry for next Thursday. Here is our planned route, Covid19 lockdowns and weather permitting

Not the full route, as google maps ran out of "add destinations"

Awesome, I've only been to Berlin but I can tell from that I'd love Germany in general

Before and after pics of the haircut please.

I use a Nikon B500.

I don't actually get shaky cam issues as often as you'd think though, certainly not enough to invest in anything just yet anyways, i know it does have a tendency to occur though when i'm weighed down by bags and equipment and am filming when holding the camera with just one hand.

When i was filming in the castle shop, it was one hand on the camera, and the other on my shopping basket, the rucksack, and everything else.

I once tried using a youtube based image stabiliser but all it seemed to do was distort the image.

:datass:

I will admit, i have been utterly pissed out of my skull on the back seat before.

Fair enough, I think there are some pretty good options for post processing stabilisation these days but it's not necessarily something to look into unless you're really worried about shakes!

Yeah, and i do appreciate the feedback, as being given said feedback over the years has helped me figure out where i can improve my techniques.

One of my most recent improvements was to produce better thumbnails as some of my travel ones weren't as good as i'd have ideally liked, this is why i now generally add text to them.

Between Milan and Switzerland, go via Lake Maggiore and visit Stresa.

Stunningly beautiful place.

I visited Lake Bled on my first road trip in 2015, it was a bit overcast though, so didn't get the full on wow I was expecting. We are looking at a place just south of Postonja this time.

Yeah, Maggiore is definitely on the radar. We stayed at Orta, Garda and Como on the last trip, and we drove along Maggiore on the way to Orta.

On a separate note, read this article earlier and it reminded me that some folks here were thinking of going to center parcs.

https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2020- ... Ffp0Quaa7k

Well, my sister works there, and like Pontins, the lodges were not cleaned during the shutdown (she's in housekeeping and they promised all staff/guests would be safe thanks to deep cleaning throughout), she got there to find filthy lodges and even stuff like ancient toast still left in the toaster. She was also told a specialist team would strip the beds to protect the regular housekeeping staff, but now she's been given an extra pair of gloves and mask and told to do it herself.

Center Parcs is not safe, not for guests, and not for the staff.

Deadline for moving our trip without penalty is within a week, and the airline hasn't cancelled it yet, so it's either we move it, or wait for them to cancel, or maybe end up going and getting ill on the other side of the world. 99% sure we'll move it now, which is just strawberry floating depressing as it'll mean we've been away for a weekend about twice this year. What a total waste of a year travel wise. We've got about 10 backups which are slowly being crossed off as restrictions aren't lifted or are put in place.
