If you climb the hill directly (and don't use the funicular), be mindful that there can be a lot of scammers around, usually groups of women trying to get people to sign petitions (they distract folk so others can quietly rob them) or those guys with the bracelets who like to pick on tourists.

It's a lovely area when you reach the top, but climbing the hill can be a bit of a minefield if you don't have your wits about you.

That said, i went pre-pandemic so i don't know if things have changed much there since.

The McDonalds at Beaugrenelle is decent.

Going for my 10th wedding anniversary in November for a couple of days.

I have been before so have done Eiffel tower, arc de triomphe etc.

Looking at The Catacombs, river cruise & Sacre Coure & Montmarte Hill.

Any other recommendations, not massively into art but have been to the Louvre before.

Also any nice bars or restaurants worth checking out?

All those are nice, and good shouts. Don't have much else to recommend sorry - there's a strawberry floating great (expensive) chocolate place within walking distance of the Notre dame if you have a sweet tooth.

The collective boost to mine and my mrs' mental health since confirming we can go on our holiday has been massive. A really great thing to actually look forward to.

We've got a load of holiday clothes we bought over 2 years ago for when the trip was supposed to be last year ( :dread: ) that stayed in the wrapping in a case in the loft. All of that is out now, and thankfully I can still fit in my stuff. Not got much to buy thanks to that, and also have a few hundred pounds in currency left over from last time too.

Holidays :toot:

I'm one of these people who always needs a holiday booked. When we went to Cornwall last summer as soon as we booked my happiness returned as life felt so grim at the time.

The only bad thing about holidays is the depression when your back at work.

It's this place, the hot chocolate is just pure melted chocolate and the brownies are probably the nicest I've ever had. And I lived in Belgium for most of a year.

Definitely need something booked, even if it's a long way off. We've got 2 more booked now for next year already

This one was booked in mid 2019 as a surprise birthday trip for me in late 2020, so we had over a year to wait which was agony, and then you know what happened. It was moved twice and cancelled twice, so we stopped even looking forward to it.

The return journey from a holiday is grim. Walking out of the airport doors and it's ice cold :x

I remember when I returned from Australia in December one year. I had my shorts on still when I get back to Heathrow as I refused to admit it was over. :dread:

The way put - Out jumper in the boot of the car, wear light clothes and take sandals to switch to once the plane is in the air.

The way back - wearing holiday clothes still, step out of the airport and curse yourself for not bringing trousers and that jumper.

One of my closest mates now I met at my first job when I returned from 10 months travelling 4 years ago. He always says I barely said a word to him for the first 6 months despite sitting opposite him and would just come in, sit down, put my headphones on, not smile, and leave. Definitely took me awhile to readjust.

I still wonder about going on another massive trip for months in the coming years. In your mid-30s it feels more daunting though, I've gotten used to my career progressing and making a good amount of money

I reckon I could make one that's so spot on you'd think it was genuine. I already know what music I'm going to use.

Nearly every video uses a variation of this shite, so this.
