Even if you don't stay there, the hotel is worth a visit for a few drinks just to see the view. Also check out the Gardens by the Bay which are quite pretty. Especially all lit up at night.

Thinking Rhodes end of August. Flying back to Edinburgh on Saturday, excited and somewhat paranoid.

We are tentatively planning a European camping road trip (pun intended) for the end of August. We want to get to Croatia. I'd imagine that next year we will still have Covid to contend with, with the added complication of Brexit and a strawberry floated economy.

The 2021 road trip will be us shuffling down the road in scraps of clothes, a trusty dog by our side and all our belongings in a shopping trolley.

Hey OS! How are you?

Got a 3 week trip planned for later in the year for my 40th. My wife booked it as a surprise over 2 years ago, and it's going to be touch and go if it even happens at this rate :x

I'm all good thanks, survived my early adoption of the corona virus. Been sitting in my kitchen, working away all throughout this gooseberry fool. Still lurking on here now and again. Just thought I'd see if folk were binning off all their travel plans or were still hoping for the best.

The way I see it, is this thing is with us now, so we just have to adapt to live with it. Luckily my life was already pretty much geared up for this, so the only thing I have to change is wearing a mask and avoid exchanging bodily fluids with prostitutes.

We have booked a trip to Luxembourg and Southwest Germany.

One of the main reasons of choosing there was that we could fly out of London City on a small plane, which should also hopefully limit interactions. (We also did want to go to Germany).

Glad you got over it.

If we didn't have this already booked and paid for, we wouldnt be booking anything more than a long weekend away at this point, mainly becuase they can get cancelled at such short notice, or while you're away a lot can change in a few weeks.

Luxembourg is well weird. We went to a small town in the north of called Clervaux, as they have a photography exhibition based there called "Family of Man" (which you should definitely visit if you can). When we arrived "The Race" by Yello was being played really loudly across the town's PA system. The only people visible to us were a couple of old drunks who were shouting at each other. There was a furniture shop there that only sold anthropomorphic items and everywhere we went, bars, restaurants etc seemed to have been furnished by the shop.

I wouldn't risk flying anywhere, we were supposed to go to Norway in March and the night before we were due to fly out Norway announced they were going into lockdown and any new arrivals would be quarantined.

So we went to Bristol instead, where we caught the virus. Oh how we laughed about the utter lack of social distancing as we were crammed into the Bristolian for breakfast. Weren't laughing later on that week.

We’re booked up to go to Barcelona next June for a music festival with some friends. Hoping it goes ahead as I’ve never been to Barcelona and there are a lot of things I’d like to see.

Also got a couple of cheap-ish staycations lined up for later in the year as long as everything remains open as we’re saving to move and don’t want to spend too much. Lake District and St. Andrews.

Americans call Christmas 'holiday', so instead of saying they're going on holiday, they say they're going on vacation. A staycation is a vacation but staying at home STAYcation.

As the UK says holiday, this is why the adoption of the word makes no sense.
