Any tips for Edinburgh?

Got a trip there for work in March and will have a couple of days to spend exploring so need some ideas on how to waste my time there!

I'd definitely recommend doing one of the ghost walks. Try and get a late night one that goes into the catacombs/underground areas.

Thank you! Do you have any recommendations as to areas to stay? Or places to avoid?

We stayed in Dongdaemun. It's handy for travel and got all the local shops and food stuff and a giant market too. Not the most vibrant area but we treat hotels as shower/sleep/storage and when you go to big cities you'll end up going across town all day anyway. Hotel rooms are smaller than western ones but that's pretty standard in Asia. We were travelling for a month and stayed at the N hotel for about £30/night. Safe, clean, cheap and a fairly good breakfast included.

Pyongyang has been known to have some slight communist tendencies.

Think I'm going to book a few nights in Disneyland Paris for my birthday :toot:

Would like to be there on my actual birthday, but looking like it's £200 cheaper to go a few days before.

How old are you going to be?

Feel like there’s an air of judgement in this question...

One of the reasons I haven't gone there is because I was worried I'd be judged because of my age.

Shame really as the movie studio section of the park looks amazing.

Nah there's nothing wrong with going to Disney by yourself no matter what your age.

If you want to go, just do it.

Nahhh I ain't jumping off that thing. I did the canyon swing and that was scary enough and made me little poop my pants. How people do bungies is beyond me!

When I did a bungee jump in NZ I had a big plan to wave and grin at my mate who was recording on the side.

In reality, I slowly lowered my knees and moved off the edge looking absolutely terrified,

Nah, was just thinking how younger folk have a totally different sense of what constitutes fun. For my 50th I had a debauched couple of days in Berlin. Stayed in the gay district, visited the bars that Bowie use to frequent and went dancing in an ex brothel until 4 in the morning.

I don't think it's an older versus younger folk thing, there's plenty of younger folk out there who would enjoy that...

Yeah you're just getting old, thinking the youngsters aren't up to gooseberry fool like that anymore.

I went to Disney World Florida last year on my own (35) and I went to Disney Land Paris a few years ago with a friend, nobody judges you because they have no reason to do so, I plan on going to Disney World again this year, life is to short to worry about what other people are thinking, if something makes you happy then do it,

Staying over in Singapore for a couple of nights in a few days. Its never been high on my list but I'm nearby so thought I'd see what it has to offer.

Any recommendations for thing to do? Food wise or areas to stay also? I don't care about the infinity pool so don't need to stay at the Marina Bay Sands or any place like that.
