Have some questions about Belfast.

Getting married at the end of September and looking at heading to Belfast for a 3 nights a few days after the wedding.

The best flights go into the international airport and we're gonna stay in the titanic quarter.

Looking online it looks like there are buses we can get from the airport to the city centre and back is it possible to get an open ticket to be used on and off over the course of our stay?

We are looking for looking at a few of the Game Of Throne tours has anyone got any recommendations? The main thing that needs to part of the tour is seeing the Giant Courseways.

It's San Fransisco, you're in the minority if you're not a vegan.

Hire a 1960s Ford Mustang and drive like Steve McQueen.

Neither of us drive. Yet. But I’m sure you need to be a year passed before you can drive in America no?

That would only be due to the rental firm not wanting to take any risk. Most of them would probably want you to be over 25 as well.

There's no law stipulating how long you have to have been driving for.

Fair enough. I’ll see how we get on. I doubt I’ll be passed by then and confident enough to drive on the other side but good to know.

I'll be in San Fran next month, two week road trip down California with mates :D

Haven't driven in about 7 years and we want to rent a large muscle car, 100% dying in a fireball.

All of these, plus Sausalito, Muir Woods national park and if you have time, a day trip to Yosemite. Beautiful part of the world.

Text me for more info Donna, I’ll see if I can dig out some pictures. It’s genuinely one of the best things I’ve done in the states - you can hire a cabin I think(we didn’t) or there is a tour bus that leaves from the centre of SF though it’s about three hours each way.

I think you’d also like Sausalito - Banjo told me about it before we went and you can get to it on the dodgy red tour bus(also muir woods). Lovely little town.

Doesn’t look like you’re well fixed to hire a car but don’t plan on doing a lot of walking - obviously you know SF is hilly as all hell but you don’t realise how strawberry floating steep they are till you get there. :dread:

I'm making tentative plan for a big Asian holiday next year, Hong Kong, Taipei and the bulk of it in Japan. Japan I'm absolutely fine with but a few questions:

Which part of Hong Kong is best to stay in?

Is Macau worth a day trip? I'll be in Hong Kong for 5 days.

My initial plan is 3 days in Tapei. Does this seem reasonable or would people recommend staying a little longer.

I've never booked multi-city flights before, is it generally cheaper to book each leg individually or book it all at once in a package deal?

What are Hong Kong and Macau like for prescription medicine? I've had no issue taking them into Japan but don't want to get into trouble. I'm on Mirtazapine.

I doubt you'll have a problem but worth checking with their respective embassys.

What are you Japan plans and how long have you got there?

The Come Over Guest House in Wan Chai is a good bet, it should prove handy while you search for Lishao Tao and learn wude.

Well it would complete my holiday. Last time my hunt for sailors in Yokosuka proved to be harder than I thought it would be.

Good idea, I'll get in touch with them and see what they have to say.

I've got about 6 weeks in Japan, possibly less if I extend out the Taipei section of the holiday a bit. My original plan was a lot more (far too) ambitious with an extra four weeks of holiday to play with.

I'll be over there for the cherry blossoms but I'm not doing anything specifically related to that as I've already been over twice for the season. Obviously I won't begrudge seeing them but I'm not going to organise anything to coincide with peak blossom.

I'm looking at cycling the Shimanami Kaido route over a couple of days, spending some time on Shikoku (the only main island I've yet to do) heading down to Yakushima, doing some hiking around the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. Possibly a temple stay at Koyasan. I'm debating whether to give Osaka another chance too. I wasn't too keen last time but that did coincide with a depression caused dip in my mood so don't know if that affected my experience. Mostly it's going to be new stuff but there are a few places I loved in winter that I'd like to see again in spring.

I'm currently working out in Belfast Int airport. Are you open to hiring a car? The transport links in NI don't seem that good, especially if you want to drive up the coast to do Giants Causeway, you could do the game of thrones stuff and then hit giants causeway on the same day if you're in your own vehicle. (Unless of course you've found a guided tour that does both?) The international airport is also about 30 mins from the city. The locals keep telling me that you can park about 10 mins away from giants causeway and don't have to pay by the way. Rather than parking in the visitors center.

What date do you land? If you didn't want to hire a car and If I'm not working that day and I'm still in Ireland I could give you a lift into the city.
