I've got a bit of a mental block thinking about this, but at the moment these are the games that immediately pop to mind as, like, "good games I played a lot of and enjoyed throughout".

Studio games

1. Zelda: Breath of the Wild

2. Dark Souls

3. Mario Odyssey

4. Fallout: New Vegas

5. Pokemon: HeartGold

6. Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World

7. Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

8. Portal 2

9. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

Indie games

1. Untitled Goose Game

2. Doki Doki Literature Club

3. Skullgirls

I've played 21 from that list (22 if you can combined the 2 Last of Us entries)

Just one, Divinity: Original Sin II

There's very few 'big' games I can actually play these days, major devs/publishers don't seem to really cater to disabled gamers, even my usual go to genres such as JRPGs have mainly passed me by now most of them have ditched turn based battles.

Was it yourself that was trying some of the new adaptive controls? Did they not offer much assistance?

They did help to a certain degree but I'm still limited to games with few inputs (analog stick/d-pad and a couple of buttons) and I'm yet to try using them with a games console (might just get a cheap Xbone S to try it).

The main issue is getting everything set up and then having time to actually play something, its usually just far more convenient to get into my usual routine of posting on here and playing the PC games I can play using just the mouse.

That’s a pain, hopefully they improve them over time and they can be more convenient to use.

It was great at the time but I’m not sure I could go back to it now. Pokémon keeps marching on...

Metacritic have very handily put together a compilation of various top 10 lists and applied their own formula for ranking the results. Guess what game came out on top?

Please keep getting your votes in!

Why does Skyrim keep coming up on so many game of the decade lists when it is, in fact, not that great?

I’ve played 14, finished 12. I started but never finished Portal 2 and (yes!) Skyrim.

If you're going for "most influential games of the decade" or "most notable games of the decade" I think it has a very good claim at either of those. It definitely has the sales numbers, cultural impact and mainstream appeal behind it.

Also for a game I love to criticise I've played it for hundreds of hours so...

I guess there isn't much at all in the way of competition in its genre? I don't think Witcher 3 counts given its predefined character, story-driven design.

In thinking about western RPGs I've just realised Mount and Blade: Warband came out in 2010 and therefore needs to be in my list. This will be difficult!

I didn't say it didn't have issues, or wasn't "compromised" in some areas (the identikit dungeons...)

But it adds up to so much more than the sum of its parts.

Jenu-All I Want For Christmas wrote:Really wish I could have clicked with Hotline: Miami. So many people raved about it but I just couldn't see why myself.

Tempted to give it another shot actually.

I treated it almost as a puzzle game, rather than an action game. It improved the experience immeasurably. I also loved the visuals, the music, the stylistic flourishes - the whole package was a massive nostalgia trip. I think if that's stripped away, you're left with a good game, rather than a great one. But it ticked all my boxes.

Made a quick alteration to my list as I completely forgot about Sleeping Dogs, one of the best open world action games this decade.
