After a day or two of nominations, we finally have our shortlist. And my god it is horrific. You have let yourselves down.

Still, there are a couple of gems amongst the dross. Which is the greatest Christmas movie of all time?

This will be a secret vote - the complaints that Die Hard would win are probably justified as people vote with the crowd and succumb to peer pressure. Hopefully a secret vote will ensure people actually vote for their favourites and not just because they were bullied into it by the cool kids.

To vote for your favourite you must PM me with the movie name in the title of your PM. The movie must be in the list below, if your favourite is not there then that is your fault for not nominating it.

Voting will close early on Christmas Eve and I will announce the winner before I go out for a few drinks (#bantz #ladz #oioi #jagerbombs #topbantz ).

And the nominations are:

The Holiday
Die Hard
White Chicks
It’s a Wonderful Life
Muppet Christmas Carol
Gremlins
Nightmare Before Christmas
Elf
The Snowman
Scrooged
Mickey’s Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol (1999)
Home Alone
The Lord of the Rings (entire trilogy)

Happy voting!

It was cancelled out by Stalag 18, but the judges decided that was more of an Easter film.

As one of the aforementioned cool kids I take umbrage at your slur.

I voted for A Christmas Carol but I've not seen the 1999 version.

You voted for the reboot of Starsky and Hutch. You are not a cool kid.

You didn't nominate. This is all your fault.

You should have nominated that instead of White Chicks.

In response to a PM I received, you don’t have to vote for the same film you nominated.

But that's just admitting that someone else has better judgement and/or memory than you do!

Voting will close tomorrow morning so make sure you get your votes in!

We currently have a 3 way tie at the top, in the event of a tie my vote will be cast to decide - don’t let me ruin Christmas!

I have voted - and despite my username, not for the Muppet Christmas Carol.
