I love you Suzz.

Personally I prefer it to about a third of the films on the list.

Fair enough, it is damn good fun and I guess this is favourite film rather than what we think the best is.

The fact that Fast and the Furious didnt make it through seems to me to be a gross miscarriage of justice.

I feel quite stupid for forgetting OFOTCN.

"The famous Dr Scanlon" Always makes me laugh.

I guess there's nothing wrong with the list (Lost In Translation :dread: ), but it looks so routine. More interesting going through each individual poster's picks to see the more esoteric choices.

Aw man, I want to vote, but I've only seen two of the four films in each group, and only have today to watch them in.

EDIT: And three of the four to watch aren't even on Netflix. Brilliant.

Wow, OFOTCN didn't make it? High Fidelity I understand, but a Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director Oscar winner, with Jack in his prime, didn't get two votes - that I am surprised about.

I think it's one of those movies everyone presumed everyone else would vote for, so they forgot it in favour of their less-obvious favourites.

The Rachel Stevens of movies.

The problem with universally renowned, amazing films is that, well, they're universally renowned and amazing. The films that were nominated are exactly the sort of films you expect to see in best of lists compiled by the users of a website.

So here it is. The top sixteen. Later on I'll run them through a randomiser again to get the match ups for the round of sixteen. To speed things up a bit, these will be 24 hour polls, vote for one film and the film with the most votes at the end of the poll goes through to the quarter finals.

Die Hard
Blade Runner
Back to the Future
2001: A Space Odyssey
Truman Show
Groundhog Day
Fight Club
Goodfellas
Empire Strikes Back
Terminator 2
Pulp Fiction
The Thing
The Shining
The Avengers
Shawshank Redemption
Aliens

List is pretty bog standard. Surprised to see Aliens and avengers over The Godfather and 12 Angry Men, but what are you gonna do.
