I don't have one answer. I could waffle about great games all day.

So, for now I'm just gonna go with Kung Fu, just because it's been 30 years and I still play it frequently. Total zen game. Switch on and zone out.

Bioshock - No other game has had me totally engrossed in its world and genuinely moved me. The visuals and sound track are perfect.

Yeah, those LTTP graphics are terrible.

OoT can't be allowed to be declared GRCades favourite game, it's a good game but also such a 'safe' predictable choice that it's almost cliché to see it topping BEST GAEM EVA! lists around the internet.

I don't really have a favourite game per se, there are games in different genres and on different formats that I like more than others, but nothing comes out on top. I have a steam folder where I put finished games I really enjoyed, but that's now quite a long list.

Either way, I recall not being bothered about OoT when it came out, so I have no great nostalgia for it.

To be fair this is for the favourite game, not best. That's why we'll see Ocarina of Time win this.

The only zelda i've ever finished is Wind Waker. I've never played Link to the Past, and only played Majora's Mask for about an hour. Also never played Metroid or Castlevania other than emulating Prime on Dolphin and playing Lords of Shadow on PC.

Ocarina of Time is only winning by virtue of being the only game voted for more than once so far. Calm down. I'm sure when more of our active userbase get involved there's a good chance something else will top the list.

To be fair, Halo winning would irritate me more.

I actually agree with Pedz. ALttP is my favourite game of all time.

That's fine. Love LTTP

Pedz was trying to bait me into having an argument with him, which is why he mentioned Super Metroid. But I saw through his child-like attempts. :datass:

Hyperion's Favourite Game:

Metroid Fusion

Image

I've got many games that could all easily stake a claim to be my favourite. GoldenEye, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, Transport Tycoon, The Secret of Monkey Island, Minish Cap, Super Metroid, Lylat Wars, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart 8, Perfect Dark, F-Zero X, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade etc....
The one I've chosen however is Metroid Fusion.
I picked this up in 2002 just before a long bus trip. It was my first Metroid game and I just lost myself in it. Discovering new paths and upgrading your suit and gaining abilities the regular Metroid formula was a whole new world and the sense of isolation and not knowing where you were was great.
Added to this was the SA-X, possibly the best 'baddie' in the Metroid series. The :dread: whenever it appeared was fantastic. I could never beat the SA-X in it's final battle when I originally played it, but completed it a couple of years ago on the 3DS.

Just  Come on Nintendo, where's Metroid 5??

Good shout, Hyperion. Fantastic game, even if it is more linear a Metroid than many would have liked. 'Twas my first Metroid game, in fact. Changed my gaming life it did. Cor blimey, it even saved Christmas. No really, it did - I got it at Christmas 2002, when I was struck down with a really bad flu. It was all I played for a month, and I loved every moment of it.

My shout...

METROID PRIME

I have a lot of "favorite" videogames, and this ranks among the highest. They change on a list-by-list basis, as well as whenever I really think hard about it, so I'll try to keep this short.

This game was a revelation to me. The in-helmet visor and HUD made me feel as though I was actually in Samus' head, seeing through her eyes, the gameplay felt like I always dreamed Fusion would be like in 3D - and it felt really damn good to play, too. The lore was extensive, just detailed enough to satisfy and open the backstory up without becoming boring, while the music was often quite beautiful - atmospheric and really pretty. Except for the Space Pirate and Chozo Ghost combat music, eugh, those tracks jarred horribly. The bosses felt challenging without being overly difficult, hell the whole game did really.

Absolutely first class.
