Driver? Crash Bandicoot? Spyro? Who voted for this gooseberry fool!
Not a bad list in all fairness, but I think most (if not all) of those in the "bubbling under" section have been robbed!

Lack of votes for Parasite Eve makes me sad

Hmm, not a great list, not a terrible one either. That said there are so many great games for the PSOne that it's impossible to boil it down to just ten.

Interestingly, Final Fantasy VIII (3), Road Rash (14), Quake II (15), Parasite Eve 2 (16) and Mr Driller (18) didn't receive a single vote from GRcade members.

good, because FFVIII is awful
didnt even know there was a PS1 version of Road Rash
Quake II - was that a port? dont know why anyone wouldnt just play the PC version at this point
Parasite Eve & Mr Driller sound relatively obscure

I preferred FFVIII over VII, never actually finished either through despite multiple attempts at both and owning both on PS1 and PC.

Sorry Rubix, I did count it, just forgot. I did see you voted for Parasite Eve, rather than Parasite Eve 2 though.

Wasn't Quake II on PSone a coding marvel? I'm sure I've seen a vid on YouTube about it pointing out how a PSone shouldn't have even been able to run Quake II.

I can't quite remember if it was 1999 or 2000, but I didn't have a PC at that point. It was indeed bloody brilliant, though FPS controls were rather awkward back them. I can't remember if it used the sticks or not. I think not, because I'm sure the first FPS on console I personally played with analogue sticks was MOH: Frontline on PS2 in 2002. Memory could be amiss however.

Bloody typical, I can't find the video now but it pointed out how a PSone's specs weren't even close to the minimum specs required to run the game on a PC. For example Quake II on DOS needed a minimum 8 MB of RAM with 16 MB recommended and on Windows 95 there was a 16 MB minimum with 24 MB recommended plus a 75 Mhz or better processor. Considering PSone only had 2 MB of RAM and an approx 34 Mhz processor getting the game to run at an acceptable level never mind being playable sounds like a pretty big technical feat.

Multiple versions in fact. Road Rash was released I think 3 times (in early 1996, again in 1998 as part of a charity compilation alongside Myst and Broken Sword, and then as a budget re-release for about £9.99), which was then followed up by the passable Road Rash 3D in 1998 and the truly horrible Road Rash Jailbreak in I think 2000.

I used to love the Megadrive games but completely missed them on PS1.
