I have DOMS from cardio. Weirdly even my biceps felt sore! :fp:

Did flat out sprinting, then a gentle jog and repeat on Saturday and still feeling it now although managed to motivate myself to go again this evening.

Wish I could be picking heavy gooseberry fool up and then putting it down again but at least with the nice weather, it makes the forced change more tolerable.

gone back to running 3 times a week now. Going out really early to avoid people and getting 4.5 miles in each time, hoprfully I'll be back to my usual self relatively quickly.

Thought I had gotten lucky as Argos have the Men's Health power rack available for £200. "Max Weight 140kg" :| who is this useful for? I really don't mean to be a dick, that's the upper range of my squatting but if you're lifting enough to consider buying a rack surely you'd hope to go beyond that at some point.

Is it a full power cage? If so surely that's just a case of you get what you pay for. You need to be shelling out some way over £200 for a decent power rack.

Yeah I know but most places are sold out, thought I'd gotten lucky.

With the gym being closed I need ways to better exercise from home. Anyone got any recommendations for skipping ropes, yoga mats, ab rollers and resistance bands?
The bands in particular I want a set which gives me some flexibility is how I train. Most sets I see use the 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 lbs system but I want to know if there are any others I should look into first.

I have vinyl flooring also which I'll need to account for when buying a mat and roller.

Folk still managing to train?

I'm still doing those Athlean x workouts A and B every couple of days with some slight tweaks.

Bought a 14kg kettlebell just to strawberry float around with and provide some variety as well. Doing very high rep squats, deadlifts and one arm rows, as well as some bi/tri work.

Defo losing muscle mass and definition but at least most will be in the same boat. Just trying to make sure I can hit the ground running as much as possible when gyms reopen.

Things are going well. End of week 3 of working out at home for me. Still using bottles of water in buckets / washing baskets, pull up bars, and running / cycling / yoga. I've lost a little weight, which I'm happy with and is intended as I'm trying to get a bit leaner.

Tried a more difficult yoga routine today so I've been doing the same one for weeks now and it strawberry floating killed me.

I miss working out in the evenings. I like working out in the mornings, and it gets me ready for the day nicely. But I think I slept better when I worked out in evenings. Starting to get more used to it these last few days, though, but it's pretty much impossible to sleep in. Body just wants to wake up at the crack of dawn no matter what. It's my day off you bastard, take it strawberry floating easy already!

I’ve been doing a long walk everyday followed by using the Ring Fit on Nintendo Switch which is actually a lot better than I anticipated. The range and variety of movements is wide and I’m doing rotating between an upper body and lower body workout everyday.

What supplements do you guys use when properly training by the way? I was using PHD Synergy which is an all in one supp but I wondered if I would be better just sticking with a whey protein?

Been getting 2 or 3 4.5 mile runs in early each week. Amazingly I'm seeing the benefits already, with my trousers being ever so slightly baggy around the waist now, so I think I've probably lost an inch or so off my tummy. It's certainly not as bloated looking as it was at the start of the month. Fingers crossed we are still allowed out at all after Monday and I can keep it going.

I wouldn't bother to be quite honest. Occasionally I'll buy a bit of chocolate whey, chuck it in with some rice milk and peanut butter for easy protein and calories but generally if you get your diet on point there's no need for supplements like that at any level. Skip straight to the steroids if you wanna get huge ;)

I used to take creatine and protein powder in my mid twenties when I first started lifting, but now the only think I take is a multivitamin and fish oil.

I just got back from a 50km cycle. strawberry floating hell why do I do this to myself, that last 20k was tough. FOOOOOD.

Yeah I used protein powder for years before looking at some studies and realising actual food is better.

I dunno what your last post means Milner sorry!

That's a hell of a cycle!

I'm losing some weight the now too. My normal maintenance calories were beginning to pack on a pot belly without the usual gym routine so have paired it back to only 4 meals a day. With running more frequently I'm definitely leaning out, some of my t shirts aren't fitting quite as snugly. Will pile the pounds back on when I'm in the gym again but actually think I look decent like this, am naturally very skinny so the lean look suits my frame fairly well.

I take a multivitamin, glucosamine for joints, fish oil tablets and creatine. Whey protein is just food, not a supplement. It's very useful as it can be difficult to get in enough protein if you're looking at 180-200 grams per day.

None of these are overly expensive.

Oh wait you meant creatine, I've never used it as I've had blood clots previously and there's some evidence it can exacerbate that issue.

Think you quoted the wrong person hime.

My lower back is still strawberry floating ruined, I thought some time off the gym might help. Pulled it warming up deadlifts back in about September and it's never been the same since. Often it's so bad it hurts to get out of bed.

Will need to visit a dr once the virus dies down although typically I don't think they're a great help. Have been doing pilates and stretching every day which loosens it a little but not enough. Ordered a new chair too but nothing seems to be working.
