I'm now, just, at the same weight I was before Christmas. If I keep going at this rate I should be at my goal weight around Easter or so. Time will tell.

The real struggle with losing weight/muscle is that I no longer have a nice cushioned ass to sit on. Can really feel hard seats nowadays.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Also I get cold easier, which while annoying in winter is welcome in summer.

We're looking to get a power rack in our garage with some overtime money I've got coming in, but mirafit just sold out this week of their low and mid tier models. :(

My weight loss is going very well though, I'm down to 87.5KG (192CM tall, starting weight two years ago was 136KG). My original goal was 86KG, but I still have some flab around my midriff, so might just keep losing till it's gone. I really miss strength training though.

I hope Ad7 doesn't start making fun of me as a gym bro. :cry:

That's great progress Winkle! I'm finding a similar issue with you, in that I'm having to lose a bit more weight that I realised to get as trim as I want. I'm 6'1 and my current goal is 75kg, and I'm currently 80kg. When I was 88kg a couple of years ago I didn't think I'd need to go that low, but I'm starting to think I might even need to go down an extra couple but I'll see how it goes.

I wonder if it's loose skin rather than any actual flab hiding the abs?

I had a gym set up in my rents garage from when I was younger and competing. SO I've been very lucky to be able to train while I've been stuck here. Moving away soon so will be taking 5-6 weeks off until gyms open up again.

It's both, but I'm still seeing changes from dieting, so it isn't just skin. The abs might get more noticeable, but I'm looking to be healthier above all. Looking good would be a bonus. :lol:

Not been doing any strength training for a couple of months now and not been to the gym since pre lockdown. Still been running but that’s about it. I have noticed a massive drop in muscle mass so not I have hit my weight target I have gone back to dumbbell and HIIT intensity workouts.

I’ll go back to the gym after my first COVID vaccine jab I think.

Do you have any weights at all? My strength is probably significantly reduced, but I've been able to retain most of my muscle by training to failure with weights. Heaviest thing I've got is a pair of 12kg dumbells. Going to failure is awful with such low weight is awful, but works.

Regardless, dream bulk starts April. :datass:

I do have weights. I've got a barbell and plates to go with it (which is obviously great compared with nothing and I shouldn't moan) but without a rack, a bench or a lifting platform it's just not the same and I have found it difficult to get motivated. Having to pick from a limited pool of lifts (front squat, power clean, row, deadlift, curl) every time is a buzzkill.

I didn't mind doing that in the gym when I could include back squat and bench press as I'd be pushing for PBs etc but as I'm in a semi-detached, lifting on carpet I can only do maintenance work and it's difficult to push myself to work hard at it when the only progress is to not get fatter/weaker quite as quickly as if I was doing nothing :lol:.

Interesting what you say about going to failure. I think I've been put off it by having read so many articles on strength training where they moan about hypertrophy techniques like that but, given the circumstances, you've just got to work with what you can.

My weight loss is going steadily, still, which I'm happy about. Love handles are more persistent than I remember. Probably about 2 months until I hit some of my main goals (I've got quite a few incremental goals to help me keep motivated along the way).

Muscle definition isn't too bad, all things considered, but the main upper body exercise that's lacking in my routine is chest as I don't have a bench so just need to do weird push-ups instead of being able to use my makeshift weights.

I'm not going to rush to get back to the gym when it opens, despite missing it a bit.

Hit a few interim goals this week with my weight - I've now just beaten the lowest I was last summer, which at the time was the lowest I'd been in 7 years. I've essentially lost 6kg of weight since my max around New Year (with 3kg of that just reversing what was gained over Christmas alone). 3kg more to go to hit my final goals, which should be 1.5 - 2 months at my current pace.

I got myself a Garmin yesterday. Mainly to track running, but it's pretty fully featured from what I can tell (got a Forerunner 245 Music). I've got some goals of certain running milestones I would like to hit by the end of this year (if possible, not sure how realistic the time frame is yet), and I think getting to understand what certain paces feels like will really help - as will all the other analysis it does. I find myself checking what my resting heart rate is all the time, but I'm sure the novelty of that will wear off soon enough.

Doing the 200 push-ups a day challenge. Day 1 was pretty easy but yesterday had to split it into 4x50 and than today its even worse so dropped to 8x25. The first couple every time I start is so painful, I am retreating it.
