Join me at the gym instead, I'll charge you half. Win-win. :toot:

So yeah it works out at either £50 or £60 per session. Not £480 for 2 and £600 for 3 in case you misread my post?
I guess places like pure gym charges £35 a session but since I'm at a premium gym they charge more because the PTs have to pay the gym £1000 a month to use the gym.

Are you in London Grumpy Dave?

It 100% reads as those are the weekly costs not the monthly costs.

Yeah, I'm in South London, but even at those monthly prices it would be cheaper to just get a membership at my gym and getting Uber to and from would still probably be cheaper.

Ah right I did notice I only said £480 per month but then for £600 I didn't say a month. So would sound confusing.

O cool where abouts in South London? I currently train in Elephant and Castle, GymBox.

That's the exact gym blackoutHERO goes to.

He's the absolute unit of GRcade. :datass:

I'm only about 30 minutes door to door from that gym and they do PAYG sessions, might have to pop along!

My ears are burning. What times do you train? Quite a small gym we've probably crossed paths at some point if we go same time.

I also work in Elephant so I usually go straight after work and can be there anytime between 5:30pm at the earliest up to 8pm.
I go every day and on weekends I go late afternoon or early evening.

100% probably seen each other kicking about as I'm there evenings. I'm usually at the squat racks in the middle doing heavy deadlifts and squats or at the back corner near big garage door benching. Then will make my way to cable and free weight area.

You been enjoying it? What did your PT look like you got? Some of the stuff the PTs get boys doing is insanely stupid.

Cool I mainly at free weights area. I rarely or never do squats. But will do deadlifts in the soft area infront of the racks.

The PT that I worked with is a young Greek guy who's quite new to the gym. He's called Petros. Has thick brown hair and facial hair. Tbh I've never noticed him before.
Be interesting to know what insanely stupid things you have spotted them doing and which ones aha.

Yeah I do enjoy going there I've been a member since around summer 2019.

Do you always workout solo?

I'm very intrigued to know which one you are :slol:

Yeah that PT is new from what I know. Haven't seen him do anything stupid so you're all good. Just feel there's too much unnecessary equipment/bands/balance balls and all that to try make it seem too complicated to do on your own so you have to keep paying them.

Yeah I'm always solo. Have been going for about year and a half now. Pulled a 600lb (272.5kg) deadlift two weeks ago which I'm buzzing with then went on holiday so haven't been for couple weeks. Excited to go back tomorrow after work and get back into swing of things.

I don't know you're orientation but it's a very gay leaning gym which I think is good for those who aren't too confident or may be new as its less intimidating for them. Think it'll be good for birds as well, less leering.

Same I am intrigued to know who you are. As there are several regulars on the racks that I can't think of but not a Scotsman. Not that it's easy to tell aha.

Its good to know that you haven't spotted my potential PT do anything silly. He is quite young, though only 23 but I shouldn't let that put me off as age doesn't necessarily equate to experience.

Yes I've noticed it is very gay orientated here. I'd say 9/10 guys are lgbt. I didn't know until I joined as I only joined because it's close to my work and it's good quality. Really like that they have a sauna too to relax in a long workout. Really helps with relaxing your muscles.

Congrats on your PB with the lifting! I can't ever imagine doing that sort of weight.

I'll be here tomorrow afterwork so will come and say hi if I spot a guy lifting very heavy on the middle rack.

Started my PT programme today. 7am start at the gym! Signed up for two months although apparently three is needed to see any change. But so far I'm liking it. My form was defintely pretty off previously but it seems like an easy fix.
What i want to get out most from these sessions is just some good experience. So that when i go the gym I know exactly what I'm doing and how to do it properly and with confidence.

Lower weights instead of raising them for bigger muscles, study suggests

Interesting and actually what I think many people have suspected for a long time now.

I definitely think a lot more about the eccentric part of the motion these days. Probably will even more now.

Is there a link to read the full article without registering for that ^

At the gym yesterday and a guy came over to me in-between my sets of squats. I assumed he was going to say how much longer or can they jump in in-between... instead he asked how I get so much depth on my squat and if I did any additional stretches/moves to do it. He even said 'basically ass to grass'. Felt good. :datass:

I didn't actually have a helpful answer for him though. Just that that's how I've always done them.

Ah nice!

Interesting stuff! Even if I did automatically keep reading 'lowering weights' as 'lower weights'

Hopefully this stops absolute clowns dropping deadlifts at the top.

On a two month transition just now before starting new block in New Year. High rep sets are murder and I hate them. Trying to build on my weaknesses, really hitting core and rows.

My 272.5 pull has given me real belief I could hit my 300 goal eventually. Going to really push some different accessories to bring up lagging parts and see where it takes me. Might even compete next year if I can get the confidence. Would love to hit a 650 total in comp.

Hadn't played football for a year because of a hip injury. Finally got back into it last night at a casual five-a-side game and... ended up in hospital with torn ankle ligaments :fp:.

Pissed off as I've been doing well at the gym lately. Going to be out of action for a while.

Torn ligaments? That sucks sorry to hear that. Very unlucky! Do you need surgery? As I heard that ligaments don't heal on their own.
I think I've torn/damaged some ligaments in my shoulder but haven't been seen yet.
It's limited my mobility at the gym which is frustrating but ever since I've been take glucosamine supplements it's gotten a lot better.
