Ha, yeah, there was me saying reading the instructions might help

Team levels up to 75! Really enjoying this, just need to get a bit more time playing it.

What sort of Mech are folk going for? I suppose there's not really much you can change at the start due to lack of funds but, so far, I'm liking the default style. Quite fancy building a big beast of a tank though.

Finally figured out how to properly change Mech parts. Also refitted my Mech with a few bits and bobs. Blew 300,000 on what I thought was a base, turns out it's just some barrels that look like they just decorate your base! My mechs in the team colour scheme with one change - he is now the PerpleHededWaryor. Childish sense of humour shines through!

I've only really picked things up from the tutorials so there's probably a tonne of stuff that I've still to find out about. Don't get put off by it at the start is about the only tip I can give at the moment. You should get used to the basics pretty quickly and you'll find speed and ease of movement improves as you start customising your mech.

I've only played a couple of the story missions and the smaller Orders so far. Very, very good though.

Can anyone else help with more tips?

Oh yeah, I tried taking on a territory by myself and didn't get very far. Taking out the other mechs wasn't a problem, trying to destroy Armoured Helicopters that had something like 85,000HP was. And they were stationary!

Just put this on and there was an update on Team News.

Apparently, we're getting battered by just about everyone else and a territory we hold is low running low on AP.

Is anyone up for some co-op on this to try and win back our homeland? (or something)

Me and Orka took some of those territories a while back - the problem was though, you can't do any more invasions (including actually taking hold of an entire region) until you acquire enough team points. Team points are earned by us having more people in the team, and those people playing more single player missions at least.

Hint hint.

Can't do tonight, but we should definitely try and organise some collaborative invasions at some point. They're really simple, and really play on the co-operative aspect of the game as well. But it's not the end of the world if we lose our current territory - they reset the territory stats every so often (once a week, I think?) to give everyone a chance.

That's not so bad then. I'm playing some more of the single player stuff at the moment so should hopefully build up our points a little bit. It's too easy to spend ages in the workshop tinkering with things though, I just need to get out there and bust some (metal) ass.

Yep, up for some co-op stuff if other folk want to get on board too.

I'll need to send Orka a friend request, are they on here or from elsewhere?

Make sure you do the tutorial Open Order mission. I somehow missed it then about 7 missions in found it and discovered how to switch weapon bays and glide boost :fp:

Yeah I did that (I think) certainly got told how to glide boost and change weapons.

God I've probably spent nearly an hour in the menus alone, trying to put together a mech and paint it the way I like it

Sorry, I thought I'd try and finish Skyward Sword so I could properly concentrate on this. I'm further from the end than I thought so I'll just juggle two.

Speaking of swords, I got a killer laser sword the other day. One hit kills FTW.

Yep.

I've put this on for a bit. I have no idea what's going on. Some girl seemed to be talking to herself in the cutscenes, then I had to kill some other AC. The guy came down off the roof, touched my AC once, then there was a big explosion, with BREAK DOWN written, before a different cutscene that made no sense and then it asked me to join a team.

I've joined GRmored Core, but I'm turning it off now. CBA trying to work out what the strawberry float tonight.

Don't even try to make sense it. Honestly. It's a botched translation of a piss-poor story. I was halfway through the game when I realised that I wasn't playing as one of the female voices you hear in the cutscenes. :fp:

Just concentrate on being a big stompy robot and blowing things up.

Yup. I realised pretty early on that the story wasn't going to make any sense at all. Big stompy robot is the way to go.
