I was planning on just focusing on the wrench and smashing everything to death  Silenced pistol too because, why not? Does stealth become a bit more viable the further you get into it/selecting the right perks? Only things I’ve been able to sneak up on so far have been phantoms.

There are upgrades to sneaking (under the "Security" tree I believe) - this should make it so you are less easily spotted by enemies and I'm pretty sure you can get upgrades that mean you make less noise as well. Similarly you can upgrade the amount of damage you do to unaware enemies.

Stealth is pretty much always a viable option - I played my first run through the game as a stealth/hacker type and it worked well. Some enemies are better at spotting you than others, but that just means you have to be more crafty! There are usually multiple ways to get the drop on an enemy, verticality is important for stealth - if in doubt look up! More often than not you can find pipes and support beams that you can climb on to either completely avoid an enemy or to get behind them for an unexpected smack around the back of the head! Plus there are multiple ways to manipulate the enemies to send them away from you or lure them into traps that you setup.

You will eventually find things that might be beyond the capability of your trusty wrench, but it was certainly still one of my "go to" options even toward the end of the game!

I guess the wrench can be upgraded? Disappointing if you can’t!

This is session 1 of my playthrough of Prey. It's going OK, I died a lot to a thing in a place but managed to do what I wanted which was to use the thing to kill the thing. ;)

I enjoyed it, but will continue on Thursday, I may have died a fair whack, but I'm making progress and the thing that was killing me was a tough
bastard in the medical centre, it was like one of those tougher enemies, but tougher again, I used 3 turrets to take it out by placing them in the room and while 2 turrets broke, it was a decent tactic and I may get my repair up to make them work again.
As I said will get back on it Thursday as I want to crack on with it and see how it all pans out.

Yeah I've tried placing turrets and running but they really don't last long against some enemies.

Dunno if you can stealth whack the Mimics with the wrench, sometimes you walk into a room and can see a chair or whatever move so I know it's one but when I try sneak up to it, it always launches out at me anyway. I still jump every time.

Oooh this might be my incentive to go back to this.
Not sure why I put it on the back burner, I was loving this!

I'll probably join in again when I see folks getting to deep storage, so we play at the same time :)

Turrets can be fortified if you get the right skill upgrade.

Also remember that you and Terry Turret are a team - don't just leave him to it all alone! Maybe you can do something to distract the enemies to make them an easier target for the turret, or slow them down so they're a sitting duck perhaps?

Don't trust Terry Turret.

I think Terry Turret might just be a distraction himself instead.

Whilst I creep up behind them and whack them round the back of the head with Stevey Spanner.

Word of warning: I do talk about a few spoilery things during the opening ~20 minutes!

Just done the first space walk, loving it. Despite wanting to do a more open ended play through I'm finding myself following the path laid out before you.

I've always overlooked this game and it was only recently I realised it was made by Arkane. I'm definitely going to pick it up next time it's in a Steam sale. It looks really good.

Ok so I've been well and truly reminded of what I hated about this game. The strawberry floating combat is a nightmare. The damage strawberry floating up your screen so it disorientates you. How quickly the enemies flip about and just how quickly you die. Eurgh.
