To be fair, unless Retro have expanded, with DK:TT only coming out last year, they're unlikely to have anything ready for release this year. Even next year would be quick so an NX title could be what they're doing at the moment.

Pretty sure they expanded during the MP3 era, but I may be wrong.

Yeah Retro took on more staff members and moved into big offices a couple of years ago.

I still don't think they'll be there.

If Nintendo are resting their E3 on Starfox it must look incredible, there's a tantalizing thought.

I think Retro's game has been switched to NX at this point.

They once rested their E3 on Pac-Man.

Pac-man vs is one of the greatest games ever designed.

I will eat Paddy Ashdown's hat if Metroid appears at this E3.

They will announce what game Retro has been working on. And it will be Diddy Kong Racing 2.

And there will be much rejoicing, because DKR was incredible.

Except DKR was a terrible handling pile of wank.

The world doesn't need another DKR before a new F-Zero.

There's two things the Wii U doesn't need more of. One is a kart racing game and the other is 2D platformers.

A Diddy Kong Racing 2 would need to have some huge selling points to be relevant next to MK8

There's always room for a Diddy Kong Racing 2.

The original was one of my favourite ever games - so much fun, and a huge challenge. Plus it has an amazing soundtrack.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as Mario Maker is great, I'll be happy. I just hope there are some more backgrounds. There are nicer backgrounds to both Super Mario World and Super Mario 3, than the grey looking ones they've chosen. From World, I'd like the World 1-1 and 1-2 backgrounds. From 3 the World 1-2 background and some other worlds too.

It would make some sense for 3DS, which hasn't had a Mario Kart for four years and isn't likely to get one for a few more years yet.

Yep, good point.

Not to mention the 3DS needs some new titles in its release schedule.

What do people think the likelihood is that we'll see Pokémon Z?

If we see a new mainline Pokémon game, it will be a new pair of titles. There hasn't been a third entry since Platinum in 2008.

I think that we probably will get a completely new par this year and remakes of Red and Green/Blue next year to mark the 20th anniversary of Red and Green in Japan.

New mainline games four years in a row though? I thought three would be a stretch. Now you say it though I think 20th anniversary remakes is more likely than an X/Y follow-up.

I assumed they skipped Black/White getting the usual third game treatment because they couldn't exactly call it Pokémon Grey :slol:
