GRvotes: The best season

> Inspired by the passionate discussion in the heatwave thread, we want to discover how GRcade ranks the seasons. Spring, summer, autumn, winter... each has its positives!

Oh, and no "Man City 2011/2012" etc ;-).

Best season is winter because of Christmas.

Second best is autumn because it's the closest one looking forward to winter.

Spring.

Not too hot like summer.
Not too cold like winter.
No pumpkin spice latte fannies going on about how they love the brown leaves and can't wait for Halloween lolxxx like autumn.

That’s the correct league table of seasons, although autumn and spring are only separated on goal difference.

Winter - The cold puts me in a great mood, there's nothing like a cold morning to make me feel better about life. If we're lucky we get snow, lots of it. I've actually been abroad to get my snow fix. Going out in the snow puts a huge smile on my face and I can stay out in it for hours. One of my best experiences was hiking a (small) mountain in Japan in the snow. I had the entire walk, there and back, to myself. And on the off chance I find it too cold on any give day I can just layer up or put the heating on. It's so much easier to get warm than cool off in the summer.

Autumn - Finally, the end of summer, the weather is starting to get cooler, I can start leaving the house again, my moods generally get better and I don't feel ill. Autumn colours are lovely. The kids go back to school so work is slightly less hellish.

Spring - It's actually a close thing with autumn, almost a tie. The weather is pleasant, I can still go outdoors and hiking is still something I can comfortably do. Everything is green and refreshed. Everyone stops whining about winter

Summer - I suffer from summer SAD, my depression gets worse, my anxiety peaks. At its worse the heat can make my physically ill (vomiting etc). I also get bad breakouts during the summer. I hate feeling sweaty and dirty all the time. I only leave the house when I have to (for work and food mainly). Good things about the summer? I guess walks in the woods can be pleasant (except getting there). And I can hang my washing out to dry.

I’m way too fat and ginger for summer so winter gets my vote.

Autumn and Winter

Winter because of Christmas and I like the colder weather we normally get.

Autumn almost ties with spring, both nicer weather wise than summer but in autumn you’re on the countdown to Christmas so that edges it.

Good to see summer getting absolutely rekt in this poll.

Winter.

It's nice and cold and when it snows I dont have to drive to the office and get extra days working from home.

People who like summer are the real enemies of the people .

Summer is great. Even though at times it’s too hot, it’s mostly just pleasant weather with the odd shower for added refreshment. Winter can strawberry float off.

1) Count up how many bank holidays are in each month
2) Arrange in descending order

(I actually voted Autumn and Summer though fight me)

Summer is by far my favourite one; it and late spring are the only time of year I dont feel strawberry floating awful (which apparently seems to be because of a vitamin d deficiency in the winter; gotta love being a south asian in the northern hemisphere).
Spring is second cuz it's less warm but still good. Like legit, nothing can beat standing out in the sun, smoking a joint while surrounded by nature

Well played.

I voted spring and autumn. Christmas is great and so is seeing The Lady in tiny shorts, but I get SAD and don’t like feeling sweaty. Spring is better though because it isn’t getting darker outside all the time.

December and therefore Christmas is during autumn now?

Nope, can't do it. Genuinely love all of the seasons equally for their own unique qualities.
