What is this all about?

Hello! Save Point is back for 2020 and GRcade is delighted to be supporting this charity event by running a twenty-four hour, live-streaming Resident Evil gaming marathon starting at midday this Saturday, 10 October.

Some of you may remember GRcadians taking part in this event in previous years. It's a fantastic activity which seeks to provide support for Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity and the incredible work they do in transforming the experiences of children and young people in hospital so they can be a child first and a patient second.

Who is taking part?

GRcade's very own Corazon de Leon (AKA Cora and RetroCora) is stepping up to deliver this amazing Resident Evil gaming session! He'll be tackling a number of titles in the legendary series... virtually non-stop. Originally Cora's brother and dog Loki were also going to take part but unfortunately the coronavirus restrictions have stopped this plan. But fear not as Cora has leveled-up and he will be taking on the event single-handedly!

When is it?

The event will start this Saturday, 10 October, at midday. It will run for twenty-four hours.

Can I help?

Yes... yes, you can! As you can appreciate, a 24-hour session will be very tough on Cora, especially at his age. It'd be super if you were able to pop into the live stream and provide some moral support for him; maybe even some "mad banter"! Make sure he occasionally takes a drink, has a bite to eat and has a wee break!

And, of course, it'd be just marvelous if you were able to make a small donation to the charity. The Edinburgh Childrens Hospital Charity does tremendous work aiding young people and every penny will really be a big help.

I want links!

Thank you for anything you are able to do to help support Cora through this event and for any charity donations you are able to make. You will be very welcome to pop by and join the fun!

"Good luck, Cora!"

I *think* Cora is gonna be playing Residents 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, Knoyleo; with other games in the series to be tackled if time allows.

Which versions?

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

It's too hard to work "ambient drop" into a pun so I'll just say good luck, Cora.

Will it be the original or remake versions of 1/2/3?

Thanks for this Jawa, the OP is amazing.

Also, we'll make sure it's a humerus 24 hour stream. :shifty:

To confirm, I'm playing Resi 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7, on the XBox One(so REMake 1, 2 and 3). Simply because it's the way to do it with the least set up time for streaming. Sadly it means I can't go through 5 or 6 but I'm not sure there'll be too many people desperately hoping for me to play them. If there's time I will also do a first play of Code Veronica. In order to get through everything in time, I'm not ruling out the use of infinite ammo weapons in one or two of the games but I'll try to avoid it in the first instance.

EDIT: Missed this

It was a challenge mixing up the horrific imagery of Resident Evil alongside a wonderful children's charity :o . Next time, Cora, could you do twenty-four hours of Nintendogs instead? ;) .

Good luck with this one, Cora. I'll try to hop in near the start, and very possibly near the end as well.

Hope it all goes well.

Today's the day! I've hardly slept and hurt my shoulder, so expect a lot of moaning in-stream and possibly even me actually falling asleep at some point in the late evening.

I'm thinking if I do this again, a Zelda marathon will be the way to go. SNES and N64 era games. :D

After the third attempt my donation finally went through, no idea why the website just kept bombing out in Firefox, had to use Chrome in the end in Incognito mode.

Either that or I've donated 3 times.
