GTA 6' Will Be This Generation's Only Rockstar Game, Says Insider

Been tempted to download GTA V as it's still on Game Pass, despite the fact I never really got on with it before :lol:

I do hope GTA VI can be more of a return to form (for my tastes), I do wonder if the characters will be both playable or just the one, kind of hoping its just the one as I didn't really like that aspect of GTA V.

You'd be forgiven for thinking it will be a Resident Evil 5 style buddy system, with the ability to play the whole game in a drop in / out co-op, based on the trailer.

I'm probably being picky but after having three distinct characters to switch between, two feels less exciting.

I'd not be against the story having two branches depending which character you decide to play through the game as.

Is co-op confirmed because that would legit be amazing.

I honestly don't see the point in releasing trailers this far out. It looks incredible, but we are going to be looking towards next gen consoles by then. I could actually see it being a launch game for the next gen consoles or within the launch window. I'll be doing what I did with ToTK and probably ignoring most of the hype until the game comes out because I find the wait for games painful these days! :lol:

The current generation hasnt even properly started yet. We're not gonna be looking at next gen consoles until 2027/28, especially Sony are supposedly releasing a Pro at the end of the next year.

I haven't even played GTA V, so can't say I'm likely to play GTA VI any time soon, but I'm still interested in what they do with it and what they include. Trailer was decent, but the game's over a year away, so feels a bit pointless in a way. Builds some 'hype' I guess. Somebody at Rockstar clearly has a love for fat arses, given how many featured in such a short trailer. I guess it is America, though. Vice City is/was a great setting, so will be good to see how that changes as well.

Best thing was when the trailer finished, my Mrs asked if the film will look just like that. Cue much confusion from me and I finally sussed that she thought it was a trailer for a film and not a game :fp:

Really excited about this release, first game since Red Dead 2 but not quite as much.

Industry analysts reckon that the game will now release later, rather than early, in 2025. This thinking is on the basis that Take-Two (Rockstar's parent company) has just reduced it's anticipated income for their financial year ending 31 March 2025.

This seems like the game to sell the PS5 Pro then.

I wonder how much better than the XSX it'll be with PS5 standard being the base version.
