Somewhere tropical would be a great setting for GTA.

One large-ish island with a decent sized city, some mountainous countryside and smaller islands dotted around. Planes could also be brought back into the series due to less city-scape slowing the consoles down.

Planes are a must.

I don't buy all the excuses (hang on - where there any?), we couldn't fly in GTA4 because of 9/11.

This won't be nearly so necessary if Just Cause 2 winds up being the game the first so desperately wished it could be.

...GTA Jamaica! They could easily use Usain Bolt for some fame factor now aswell.

I'd like to see it set outside of the US myself. Anywhere, really. A full blown GTA London would be aces though.

I can see why they wouldn't want to venture out of America though...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City 1959

Liberty City in 1959, a thriving metropolis where the docks are always busy, the railways seen in are all there and are all busy ferrying freight and passengers to and fro, the buildings on the whole are much lower, Alderney is much less developed, and so on.

Perhaps not such a good direct sequel idea as people will want to go elsewhere, but as a spin-off, downloadable content or down-the-line sequel it could be quite brilliant.

I just wanna see how Liberty used to be before all the modern developers moved in and ripped up the railways. :(

GTA 1800's.

Essentially I just want another Red Dead Revolver game but with added free roaming (a bit like Gun then but with more to do).

Pretty much, with added steamtrains and wagons. Get plenty of bounty hunting and a killer spaghetti western soundtrack (like Red Dead) and I'm sold.

Have what? I said I would like another Red Dead game but in the vein of GTA. I know Rockstar made it, that's why I think it's a possibility.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Northern england during the mass unemployment, industrial action and rioting of the 70s and 80s. A lot of really pissed off people and great music.

I've only owned GTA 2 and I have played 3 for about 20 minutes before I decided it was not for me. I'm really in no hurry to ever buy a GTA game but I would like to see them set a game in a unusual setting so maybe (just maybe) I may consider giving it a try.
