Basically, Gandlaugh is brilliant, and I'm pondlife.

Im prepared to put an end to me "taking the piss" out of yourself Gandalf, and I will not comment on you or any of your posts again. Good luck with your moderating duties.

When a vote is clearly being swayed by some people putting an answer down just to make the poll closer, it makes a farce of the whole thing. It's a nice idea to think GRcade can work as a democracy, but with so many people playing the comedy card all the time, we might as well be conducting a general election by polling members of the Monster Raving Loony party.

It seemed to make sense to have a poll, but the comments said more than the votes ever could, really. Hence it was taken down. I hope everyone understands.

And for the record, bluehats don't make decisions. We're just there to provide helpful suggestions and advice, and assist with pointing out potential issues/problems.

GRcade is still young, and there are bound to be slight teething problems. Let's not start fighting with each other just yet.

Just so long as we do get a say in future, fairly and justly. When you haven't got a bloody clue what the hell is going on, its not much fun to be honest!

The poll was being affected just as much the other way as it was negatively. There wasn't one time I came in and it hadnt changed again. It was yes,no,yes,no,yes,no,yes,no all day....

The mods put up a poll deciding whether or not Eighthours would get mod - trusting us to vote fairly. But some were just voting to keep the poll close (it was "51% No" in the end I think) so they took it down, and wont let it decide. That's what I gathered at least.

I think that one of the problems we're facing is that other members are able to point out lots of relevant things but don't have the same 'forum' that you have, in that they can't post in the same places you can.

I, for one, am perfectly happy how this place is. My problem is that we can't have the same input in its future, in all respects.

EDIT: Which is pretty much what DML said.

Why 'bluehats', anyway? It looks more like purple to me.

Yup, there's that and there were a number of dishonest members trying to rig the vote with fake accounts (which was inevitable with a poll like this, to be honest). A few of those accounts have now been deleted.

Cheers.

The final poll result:

strawberry floating close. I'm negotiating to get the thread moved back here and locked so you can see it. I seem to be the only person who sees how dodgy it appears for you not to have access to it!

Nah, I think it's best to just leave it there, it's not just those folks who are to blame for the events tonight. It would probably be best to just go back to the mod-picking system that was used on GR, letting the old mods (not users, founders, or even a mod team noob like me) decide who is best for the job. KEEP IT THE SAME and all that.
