Either speed boost after dash or a flat speed up from Hermes is really useful for helping you dash out of range of the spin attack. I always try and grab Hermes at least once in a run so that might be helpful!

I was waiting for you to find that.

Shouldn't be much longer until you get through it though, once you've gotten to that point.

Capped off the year by starting this and playing for 30-40 mins, enough time to do three runs. It's very satisfying, isn't it? Beautiful art and a great tactile feel. The slight angle to the camera/movement is something I'll need to get used to.

I don't mind that they're leaving me to figure out the various currencies for myself. It all feels familiar because I put 50+ hours into Dead Cells. I've done two sword runs and one bow run and reached Meg once, but she just killed me.

For now, it's time to crack open the beers, but can see myself enjoying this a lot in January.

No interest in seeing the story through? It takes 10 escapes, so 9 more

Fair play. I think you'll impress yourself with how routine beating a run becomes after the first win!

Does anyone bother with the Call Boons? They don't seem to charge up quick enough for them to be used.

They'll be my last choice of boon to pick, usually, but you can get some very good synergies going with them - especially posieidon's when you also deal bonus damage for knocking back foes, etc.

Basically they're a really nice addition when you get offered one that works with your current build. I find them very useful for dealing gooseberry fool loads of damage to bosses - especially Hades.

Yes they are incredibly good, especially for bosses.

Artemis or poseidon is what you want

First escape :D

Had an OP build - shield, boons that made my call shoot three powered up vortexes and the resulting little red diamonds shoot boosted, double lighting at nearby foes.

Spent many fights shooting out vortexes then hiding behind my shield while the lighting killed everyone.

Games and Stuff.

If you can read this, you're too close.

After a series of bad runs - couldn't make it past Meg or bone Hydra I got back to theseus and minotaur.

Managed to kill the minotaur but only had a slither of health left which theseus chipped away :x

I'd thoroughly recommend using stubborn defiance when you have the alternate mirror perks unlocked. Being able to die in every room is what helped me make progress.

It's also quite tactical - if you have less than 30% health left after clearing a room, but haven't died yet you can kill yourself on a trap/lava etc to get a health boost before moving on.

I've switched reload for the gun to R shoulder button instead of right stick click.
