A 13 minute completion! Can't see myself getting much lower though

That's pretty much the end of it story-wise, unless you have individual character stories unfinished. Off the top of my head have you brought Nyx and Chaos together, "romanced" Meg, Than and Dusa, and altered the pacts for Achilles, Orpheus and Sisyphus?

Gameplay challenges left have you beaten extreme measures Hades or done a 32 heat clear for the statue unlock by Skelly?

Congrats on getting to the family reunion though, I imagine most people don't as it is quite a long slog after the main story ending!

Any tips for a 32 heat run? I can't get past the Hydra at the moment

I can't imagine how that plays out. My quickest atm is around 27 minutes.

I think my quickest was around 16 with the fists iirc, 13 is crazy!

For the 32 heat run I can't actually remember what setup I went with, I'll dig through and see if I screenshotted the end screen.

From memory this is how it played out:
- Fists with the second aspect (magnetic uppercut)
- Thanatos's keepsake
- Athena's Owl Pendant
--Tartarus--
- Started with Athena's Divine Flourish which was Special +130%
- Picked up a Chaos boon that added another 50% to my special
- Athena's Blinding Flourish
--Asphodel--
- Dionysus's Hangover Aid
- Hermes's Quick Favor
--Elysium--
- Dionysus's Trippy Flare
- Dionysus's Blackout (legendary boon)
- Ares's Blade Dash
- Athena's Proud Bearing
- Zeus's Clouded Judgement
--Styx--
- Zeus's Billowing Strength

I've been playing this and have racked up about 15 attempts and met the final boss twice. I'm enjoying it, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm not improving at the game, more that I'm getting better stuff which is helping me get further. The close combat weapons generally lead to me spamming X and A over and over through the playthrough, and I find the 'cast' moves to be completely useless.

Not sure if I should be forcing myself to experiment with setups more.

You should definitely experiment with as many boons as you can.

You will, as the game progresses, realise that certain weapons, certain boons, certain tactics etc are more effective than others. For my first 25 or so attemps I barely used Cast, but then I realised it was probably because I'd had been massively undervaluing it. There is also an unlock for Cast in the Mirror of Night which gives you options in its functionality and plenty of others that that provide more freedom in how each run progresses.

You will improve in terms of knowledge and strategy, but at 15 attempts you've barely scratched the surface. I didn't get my first completion until something like run #33. I've now had 60ish completions from around 130 runs and I'm still learning which boons compliment each other. One thing I wish I had done early on is made use of the Codex, because it tells you what standard boons you need in order to access each tier 2 boon, as well as duo and legendary boons. Personally I think the duo boons are better than the legendary ones and thankfully they're much easier to come by.

Using whatever weapon has the bonus on it and taking fated choice boons is an easy and rewarding way of mixing things up. Also - cast can be very powerful!

Thanks guys. I'll try to mix things up a bit next time I have a go. I do always pick whichever weapon has got that purple gooseberry fool on though.

Nice one! My first finish was with the Rail and the Hazard Bomb boon too.

It was ludicrously overpowered haha. Although Hades still took 2 lives off me.

Started playing this tonight and I can see why people really like it, very much got that addictive gameplay that Dead Cells has.

Only had about 6/7 runs so far but got past the first boss on the last one. With the Boons, do you unlock the ability to have more on a run or is it always 3? Weapon wise I love the Shield.

You can only ever have 4 of the boons with the main effect on your attack, special, cast and dash, but there are loads of boons that stack providing additional effects. You will also unlock another kind of boon.

Glad you're enjoying it!

Is that where you increase the level of a boon?

But yeah it’s great so far, a lot I’m still learning and working out but it’s clicking with me so will put more time into it tomorrow
