It's also quite tactical - if you have less than 30% health left after clearing a room, but haven't died yet you can kill yourself on a trap/lava etc to get a health boost before moving on.

I've upgrade everything but that due to cost, and only last session did I realise what the power of it could be. Will be my top priority next as I'm stuck just after the bone hydra.

Yeah it's a shame the cost makes you think you should wait a while for it - I'd recommend everyone guns for this as soon as it's available. It'll really really help your progression.

I might even spend a key to respect as a few of the others don't really do much for me at this point.

Stubborn defiance is a game changer early on and I used it for a good while, but switching back to death defiance with multiple uses is definitely the better option overall.

The ease of respeccing at the mirror is really great for not worrying about the costs too much!

Yeah I totally agree - I swapped back to Death Defiance after I'd beaten the final boss about 5 times as I was good enough then to reap the benefit of the fully upgraded Death Defiance.

Yes you should do this! Spend key to pay respects.

Beat theseus and the minotaur!

Got hades to almost half health as well but he got me in the end :x

I got so lucky with Boons on that run. Shield weapon with attack x2 and speed increase with Doom cause effect which stacked. Poseidon cast and artemis call. Felt very OP. Literally tore apart the minotaur.

Half health or three quarters health? ;)

Love it when your Boons stack up like that. I think I've had very similar ones to what you've described up there and it's very satisfying.

I've done it! I've escaped!

Only took my 29th attempt and 66 minutes but I've done it with the bow.

Felt a bit cheesy because I had a duo boon which regenerated my health so I could hide and heal up. But a wins a win.

Im back to playing this now. Still have not beaten the last boss (34 runs) and have have enabled god mode. I will probably toggle it back off when i finally do get my first win.

Something i have never understood - you can give nectar to the various gods etc, but for what purpose? Just additional dialogue? Because it seems like there was plenty of that already.

First time you gift them nectar, they'll give you a unique item you can equip for future runs. From then on, though, there's no immediate benefit, until you unlock some other later game content.

Your quite right - i forgot about the unique item thing. But yes, it was more the effect of the subsequant 4 or 5 gifts that i was questioning. Maybe i am not at that stage yet. I think i maxed out the Nyx relationship a while back, but i dont recal anything happeninbg as a result.

Non-specific spoilers:

The 5 larger item unlocks below the keepsakes are unlocked from reaching max relationship with specific characters, and I believe upping olympus relationships is one of the flags for the epilogue ending.

Some of the character stories are reward enough though tbh. Their ongoing narratives lend reason to runs after finishing the main story.

I skip all the dialogue :shifty:

I'm also over 30 attempts and have only just made it past the second boss :fp:

It's one of the few games where I basically always let the voice acting play out because it is very good. I definitely wouldn't skip it without reading it at least, the strength of the narrative and character interactions is pretty much what sets Hades apart!

Also Zag calling everyone mate is great :capnscotty:

This is like playing Diablo but ignoring the loot because there's too much of it.
