Last night I used the gun for the first time and got all the way to the 4th area meeting and beating the 3rd boss section first time. I had a few boons that powered up the special mortar like move and it got me through a lot of battles

14th run attempt tonight and I got all the way to Hades, second part of the battle he destroyed me even though I had 3 death defiances

Using the Exagryph weapon and it seems be working well for me the last 2 attempts (I have upgraded it mind)

Seriously though, it took me well over an hour to get to that boss, how the hell do you guys beat this in 20 minutes :shifty:

I’m on something like my 35th attempt and not got to the boss of the 2nd world yet! I have no strategy other than use the fists and dash constantly to try and avoid attacks.

The amount of things thrown at you in terms of boons or whatever they are make it difficult to know the best one to use.

Any tips?

Depends a lot on the weapon you're using, plus obviously the boons you pick up. The fists and the sword are the fastest, although I had a run with the spear recently where I was just using my casts and it was ludicrously quick.

Dodge a lot. Concentrate on levelling your attack or your special, not both. Always pick the boons. Always take the Chaos gates. Always pick the Daedelus Hammer.

Use the Skelly keepsake to start with, it grants you an extra Death Defiance. Give Skelly a nectar to receive it.

My SX run will be the Chaos Gate run. Avoided it like the Plague on PC. Even after learning about its connection to my favourite Lady. (Not sure how it will positively benefit my runs, but it's a great excuse to replay it.)

In terms of keepsakes, I always start my run off using the one that grants 50% extra damage to your attack/special whilst you don’t have a boon for them. Once I have a few boons I’ll swap it for the extra health one then the later stages I swap again to the extra death defiance.

Chaos gates allow you to double down on extra damage. So you've got a boon on your Special that gives you +80% damage? Well how about another 90% damage on top of that? Now you're doing silly numbers. The one that gives you an extra cast can be run changing with some setups too. And the improved rarity on boons if you pick it early enough.

Basically the rewards from Chaos gates are almost always better than the punishment for taking them. Often they are run-winning.

I rarely use the Cast ability and avoid any boons for it if I can choose something that adds to anything else.

Cast turning into lasers is fun. Especially when you get boons which increase its speed and tracking.

If you can get the boon for your casts automatically returning to you, then it's awesome. The Aphrodite one where it turns into a shotgun is incredible.

EDIT - Phalanx Shot is also brilliant. As is the Ares cast where you fire those red rings.

See?

I'm sure there's an easier way of posting Xbox game clips to this forum than uploading them to YouTube, but I'm strawberry floated if I can find it

Finished the main story of this. I think I'm done with it. I loved it. Over 50 hours on the clock.

Did you do the epilogue too? I'm still trying to bond with enough gods to trigger the last mission.

I'd say the epilogue is great for giving you a reason to get more out of the game if you want to keep playing, but finishing the main story is a perfectly good and satisfying point to stop and call it done - the epilogue isn't a "must see" end to the story.

I really enjoyed the epilogue.

I stopped playing once I'd maxed out all relationships, got all the boons and completed all the prophecies.
