I actually kind of like the laser mobs because they're so pretty. And easy to dupe. "Here I am!! Shoot me!!" *lasers get going but are not yet on me* *dodge in behind them* *backstab backstab backstab*

Decided to do a gun run. Daedalus turned it into a shotgun and reduced max ammo. Sucked the fun right out of it

It's when you have like 3 laser mobs and they are all armoured so can't be hit out of firing.

I beat my first fist run last night. Currently on a 6 run streak, dark thirst is on the sword now and it's the last weapon I haven't cleared with.

EDIT: Did it... and got the credits/ending! This game

I only find them a pain in the larger rooms, when you're getting pummelled from all sides :x

How did you find the fists? I still can't believe my quickest run was with them. (2nd quickest with the rail.)

Grats.

That fist run was my quickest so far (26 mins I think) beating out my previous quickest which was also with the rail as it happens!

I was using the aspect with magnetic special, that definitely helped. I also had a rare curse of pain at level 9 giving it 210 doom which was really wrecking, that's the highest level I've reached on a boon yet. On top of that I had the special healing me by 2% on every kill, which at 335HP meant a very decent +7HP per kill.

I've definitely come around to them a lot more anyway

Well, my streak finally ended at 11. I can't be unhappy with that!

I unlocked the secret aspect of the spear and it is the coolest damn thing - Aspect of Guan Yu, I'm about to try it out for the first time.

I also beat a certain optional boss (charon) for the first time on my last run. And then lost anyway to Hades despite it being an easier fight

:toot: :toot: :toot: Well done!

You'd think the CQC would be more risky, but the ability to quickly dodge to the other side and start pummelling again actually makes for fairly safe and entertaining fighting style.

I'm really enjoying the boons that make your dash harmful as well, and then stacking them with ones that boost your damage from dash attacks/specials, until you're a working maelstrom of damage.

Triple dash, casting weak with each one, then a buffed dash special with knock back, and damage over an area, and also bonus lightning damage when riding just before getting hit.

Nice!

I've played this for over 50 hours now, it's rapidly becoming one of my most played switch games.

Got bored of using same boons. Went into final fight WITHOUT deflect on dash :o but did have Poseidon's Call and... deflect on attack and special :shifty: all the while attack was on +30% speed boost :slol: and had Artemis's magical arrow boon augmenting it. AND STILL I only walked away with 0 Death Defiances and only 5 HP remaining  I had him down to 50% and thought "Sod it! Let's see who dies first!" And went on an all out attack. And then chickened out when I had him down to his dregs and started hiding behind the rocks :slol: Poseidon's Call on max did really good damage.

Poseidon's Call is absolutely devastating with a few levels on it. My last run I had it rare at level 5 with a bunch of god gauge boosting boons (auto charge, charge more on both dealing damage and taking damage).

I really like Artemis' support fire with the rail or fists because of how rapidly they attack, or with the bow if you get the rapid fire Daedalus upgrade.

Re support fire + fists: yup, that's what I had  Though I think there was room for it to fire off more often.

I still haven't made it past the skeleton snake thing.

This gets really hard to play on a switch lite when there's a lot of enemies and projectiles on screen, impossible to tell how you get hit sometimes.

I think the shield is my favourite weapon at the moment, there's an upgrade you can get which gives your bull rush 400% damage if you release it at the correct time, it's ridiculously good.

The shield is just great, the fact you can just tank a ton of hits while you wait for enemies like the skulls to gather up in front of you to you can kill them all in one hit is really good. Then the shield throw is really good for applying status ailments.

Not to mention it's really fun to stun lock enemies into walls, pillars or knock them onto traps

The shield block is almost too good, especially for the later bosses. My last run was with the shield's hidden aspect which makes the bull rush even better as you load your cast into it. It probably made the bone hydra slightly harder though, I really like having range to fight it!

Might have to pick this up on Switch before the sale ends. I have some credit in my wallet so it's really tempting!

It's really good, if that helps ;)

I'm over 60 hours now so it has been well worth the money for me. I don't know how much Binding of Isaac I've played on Vita but I reckon this is probably now my most played rougelite. It certainly is on Switch.

Previous run with shield: A brisk and bouncy 24 minutes.

Latest run with shield: Record double digits streak ended and a slog of a 34 minute run.

I had seriously cruddy luck, some of it through the choices I made, with Daedalus upgrades and boons.

Just how bad was it? Heat level was only at 2.

I prefer that kind of play style, I like being able to dictate the pace of the fight. It's a bit more interesting than spamming dodge every 2 seconds.

Am I right in thinking the dash makes you completely invulnerable?

The first seem very easily overpowered other than their range obviously, some upgrades make the uppercut absolutely broken, I had a run where I was two hitting everything and just making groups of enemies explode.

I don't usually like roguelikes but this gives you enough control it's not a chore, it also can make you feel powerful from the start.

I tried enter the Gungeon and way too much of that game was up to RNG, not to mention the bullet dodging was incredibly repetitive.

Attempted my first run since my first escape, this time with the sword. I had a boon that increased attack damage based on how much cash you had on you, and a few others to damage on dash, damage and resist more when you've used your cast, but really could have done with some deflect, because although I was dishing out a ton of damage by the time I reached Styx, I didn't have much going for survivability, and got trashed going through the chambers. Was a fun build, though.
