Only sad it cost like 4x as much as hl2 to get into this.

Playing the episodes at the moment, and I'd forgotten how creepy the overall vibe is. It's easy to think of ravenholm as the scary bit, but it's all got the potential to have you on edge. Those strawberry floating poison headcrabs have had me jump more than I'd care to admit. Hiding from the combine in VR is going to be terrifying, and I can't wait :dread: :datass:

Since getting my index controllers, I've only used them a few times as I'm in a racing VR mood at the moment, so I'm looking forward to really getting immersed and drawn in.

Saw a vive headset only for 80 quid at CEX, do you need the base stations ie room vr to play this?

You need the base stations for the Vive to work at all. Controllers, too (for most games at least).

Valve have released a couple of area demos to explore for Index owners (is that anyone on here?) although apparently they don't represent how things will appear in the final game anyway.

I should have them thanks to my index controllers. I'll look later.

It's weird, they didn't have the cuby things or controllers but something else, it was clearly marked £80.

It's completely useless without the base stations and the controllers. I'd also bet it doesn't come with the hdmi/power/usb box too.

Yeah I just checked and it's only this https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id= ... k-box%29-b

It does have the input combo box thingy.

In vaguely related hardware spots, local charity shop has Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X for £20 boxed, I am debating putting clothes on to go and buy that now just for better Elite.

I hate that I have to wait a week to get this....

Just means more time to savour doom I guess.
