That's right....HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening).

BlackFoot Studios has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license the Unreal Engine 3 for its upcoming military tactical action title Sky Gods.

In development for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Sky Gods will focus on a complete cooperative experience which centres on Special Forces operations, specifically HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) and helicopter insertion missions.

"A nicely proven engine solution makes it feasible for us to release our first title, Sky Gods, on multiple platforms," said John Sonedecker, founder of BlackFoot Studios. "Unreal Engine 3 is proven on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with an art pipeline that allows for easy cross-platform development and drastically reduces the effort and costs involved with releasing a title on both PC and consoles."

BlackFoot plans to release Sky Gods worldwide via digital distribution in the first quarter of 2009.

I'll admit it, the topic title owned me then, I honestly thought you know what was going to be ported.

This smells a little bit like that James Bond Golden Eye game.

So Microsoft are selling up and getting out of the games business then. This makes me hopeful for a triumphant return for Atari.

I can barely believe it myself. HALO on more than one console.

The game is called Sky Gods, though. It happens to feature HALO jumps, but that is hardly new either. MGS3 already had HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) jumps in them, and that was a PS2 game.

Are they going to release a back catalogue of the originals, or just go straight to Halo 4?

Except that was a cut-scene. ;) Sounds interesting...
