So I can guarantee you are still up against KB&M players on Xbox even with cross play disabled.

I just had one on my team who didn’t know what tap to talk is. Heard his mechanical keyboard throughout :fp:

Good news, hopefully enough credits to buy the next battle pass.

Well cross play stops PC players, not KB&M.

Finally going to make a start on this in the near future (probably tomorrow), how many hours is the main campaign?

Depends how much you investigate the open world. If you ignored that I reckon you could do it 6-10 hours depending on difficulty.

Yeah feels like if you were very focused on the story missions you could get through it quite quick. I'm the opposite of that so am currently on about 25 hours played and still think there's quite a way to go yet.

Just made a start on this, just left it on normal and probably will try to just get the story out of the way, with it moving open world is there much in the way of optional upgrades for Masterchief? Or is it fairly typical Halo in that regard?

I didn't realise the story was so short, which probably explains why it's suddenly feeling like its ramped up.

I've just completed the spire and then 3 anti aircraft guns for pelican dowm.. How much more is there? I'd assumed you'd have more world open up but it sounds like that might not be the case.

I'm looking around for secrets a lot too.

My Heroic run though is at 40hrs. Thats getting all the outposts etc. and exploring around.

Ive just finished my Legendary at 15hrs with the bandana skull on, only concentrating on spartan cores to raise the equipment levels and a few of the high targets to get some of the fancy weapons. There is the yellow sniper on one of the mountains in the anti aircraft area which i found useful. Legendary is a big BS step from heroic - the red huntersare particularly nasty even with infinite grenades, and even having infinite ammo some of the bosses were still BS, i guess without the bandana skull its a case of grappling to cover and circling around to get more ammo. Halo 1-3 always seems "fair" on legendary (maybe not some sections of Halo2) but here the BS is piled on.

Without spoiling too much, your probably about 50% through the story, and about 60% though the "area"

In the open world, you will come across "spartan cores", these will upgrade your "equipment". This is the rpg element of the game - and upgrading and using the equipment is really useful.

Are Spartan cores relatively easy to acquire? Or is that based on the difficulty you’re playing on? Done the first mission and while it looks lovely the combat is the best bit so far, I doubt it will ever get boring using your hookshot and dragging yourself towards an enemy, doing a melee attack just before you make contact :datass:

Most of the spartan cores are very apparent/ will make themselves apparent. Without spoiling too much, they will make themselves known. Some might require a bit of exploration, and some bit of patience. There are also more than you need. On a normal playthrough you should get enough of them.

Thanks, just starting the second mission, hoping to make a bit of progress in the open world aspect as well. Will definitely be trying to play a good chunk of this over the coming days, not sure how I feel about it in comparison to the other Halo games so far, Reach & Halo 1 - 3 are fantastic but it’s very early days yet.

You are probably just under half-way through the story. That’s in terms of progress - the actual time it takes you will depend on how you get on with the bosses in the second half. It took me more time to complete the second half of the campaign than the first.

Just an educated guess.

Cheers. Been messing about with banshee and wasps, currently piecing 4 bits of code together to access another spire.

So I’ve just got onto the open world element of the game and so far I’m enjoying it. The banter between the Chief and his AI is great  Already noticed on the map there’s numerous collectables to get though :fp:

I've completed the mini battle-pass for the Attrition event. Some of those challenges were a real slog and really made you adapt your gameplay in non-ideal ways. The two 'melee' challenges were a particular pain. The first was 25 melee kills. Fine, a bit tedious and took several matches. The second was 5 melee kills from behind. That one was a right pain.

I don't mind the 'cumulate X player score' or 'complete X matches of this type' challenges. However, I think the weapon versions really make you adjust how you approach the game to the detriment of both you and your team. I hope they become less frequent in the future. I know you can ignore them, or even swap them, but some weeks they are more frequent and are therefore the main source of XP, and you feel a bit compelled to complete them.

I also hope they scrap the daily XP cap for completing matches. It's so limiting at the minute. I was playing on Friday night and completed the 5 of so matches until you get to 50XP per match. Then played a few more because I was having fun. I then wanted to play on Saturday afternoon, but I wondered what the point was given that the daily match XP amounts wouldn't reset until 6pm.

Multiplayer gameplay is fantastic on the whole, but they need to iron out this battle pass stuff, otherwise I (and probably others) will just completely ignore it next season.

Played a bit more of this and the open world is starting to keep my attention a bit now, don’t think there’s a chance I’ll be able to have this finished anywhere near as quick as I was thinking  Clearing out the FOB, destroying propaganda towers will get my attention, picked up a few Spartan cores as well, will be focusing on upgrading my armour to start. What do the Mjolnir armouries do other than restock ammo and maybe offer a chance to swap weapons? Or is that it and I’m not missing anything?

Are they the boxes at the FOBs? - if so yes.
