Live stream had a tease for something, probably the "BR" -

The full stream -

Summary -

Went over their entire BP
Showed a snippet of the 1st narrative cutscene
Reiterated the maps and modes
Discussed this weekends HCS event and the twitch drops
Spent a lot of time breaking down the mentality of season 2 being 6 months
Went over the plans for the forge release and how it will be the entire forge suite of tools
Explained drop pods and their goals for them (monthly QoL updates)
Their top focuses are currently anti-cheat, de-sync, spartan career progression, content pipelines, ranked and gen matchmaking accuracy
went over the push for more cross-core cosmetics, starting with opening up helmets, coatings and visors to start (not at the launch of season 2 but in a drop pod update. Wants to eventually move entirely away from the core system it launched with)

The more I think about it, the more I'm not convinced I can work my way through another battle pass with only two additional maps. I might give this season a skip and come back when there are a few more options.

Always liked Killzone's aesthetic so I'm digging this new Armour, it's also very Wolfenstein!

Season 2 goes live at 7pm tonight.

Join the Hunt in Halo Infinite Lone Wolves: Season 2

Gear up for the next chapter in your Halo Infinite multiplayer journey with Lone Wolves: Season 2 – available now as part of Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10, and Steam. Starting today, players can jump in with fresh content including new maps, modes, themed limited-time events, and an all-new premium Battle Pass that never expires.

Season 2 sees a new narrative begin to unfold: Cortana’s dominion has ended, and the Banished rushed to fill the void, decimating all who stand in their way. Spartan Commander Agryna is preparing a new generation of Spartans to face them — and perhaps even more dangerous foes. But a few scattered Spartans remain in the field. These Spartans are rugged and resourceful. Hunters in the dark. And they call themselves… Lone Wolves.

These Lone Wolves are at the center of Season 2’s all-new Battle Pass, featuring 100 tiers of rewards with an emphasis on the free armor core RAKSHASA. Epitomizing the’ Lone Wolves’ spirit, this core incorporates scrapped, damaged, or otherwise discarded UNSC and Banished Equipment to create a distinctive battlefield-manufactured look that stands apart from other Spartan armors. Also featured among the premium rewards are 1,000 Halo Credits for use in the in-game shop, as well as other customization options and effects for your Spartan.

Play matches, earn XP and unlock rewards at your own pace: once purchased, the Premium Battle Pass is yours to keep and complete at your leisure. If purchased the Season 1 Battle Pass but haven’t completed it, you can choose to level it up for rewards you missed, and switch between Passes whenever you like.

Season 2 introduces two brand-new maps to the rotation – Arena map ‘Catalyst’ and a new Big Team Battle map in ‘Breaker.’ ‘Catalyst’ sees players battling in the cavernous depths of an abandoned Forerunner structure: tight hallways, raised catwalks and perilously exposed light-bridges that weave throughout overgrown ruins and towering waterfalls. Meanwhile, ‘Breaker’ is set amongst a Banished salvage yard featuring a massive, deadly plasma cannon, open passageways and soaring mechanical structures that work together to foster Halo’s beloved big-team mayhem.

These maps are home to three brand-new modes for Season 2:

The king returns with an iteration on one of Halo’s most iconic modes — King of the Hill — where players compete over a “hill zone” that brings the team actively controlling it closer to victory with each passing second.
The star of the Lone Wolves event is ‘Last Spartan Standing,’ a free-for-all attrition-based mode pitting 12 Spartans against each other in a fight to be the Lone Wolf left standing.
The all-new Fracture: Entrenched event brings with it ’Land Grab,’ an objective-based arena mode where players fight for control over three neutral zones – earning points for each capture.

This is just a taste of what will be coming in Halo Infinite Lone Wolves: Season 2. For a full breakdown of the season, including maps and modes, head to Halo Waypoint. The game will continue to grow and evolve over time with new additions and quality of life updates, with an ongoing commitment to sustainable development and delivering quality experiences while balancing overall team health. We’re excited you’re on the journey alongside us.

The S2 patch notes could give the impression that campaign content was added, which is a bit misleading:

Season 2 sees a new narrative begin to unfold: Cortana’s dominion has ended, and the Banished rushed to fill the void, decimating all who stand in their way. Spartan Commander Agryna is preparing a new generation of Spartans to face them — and perhaps even more dangerous foes. But a few scattered Spartans remain in the field. These Spartans are rugged and resourceful. Hunters in the dark. And they call themselves… Lone Wolves.

Is there any word on when new campaign chapters are going to be added, or is focus on MP for the next couple of years?

So S2 introduces a new arena map, a new BTB map, and three new modes? Is that correct? Out of interest, how does the new mode 'Entrenched' differ to 'Strongholds'? Is it just that the areas move?

Fortnite, Apex Legends and Warzone all do this, they have an over arching narrative to their online worlds, nobody thought this was referring to campaign DLC bar possibly yourself!

"The Endless" was trademarked recently which is the rumoured Campaign expansion, no timescale on it, I'd guess late 2023.

Only really played LSS and a bit of Fiesta so not played Entrenched yet, your guess sounds correct though.

I wonder if they reveal the BR mode at the showcase next month...

Just watched Joe Staten on the Xcast podcast and he pretty much confirmed that older maps will be coming to Infinite.

He was asked if they could do it and he was like "well I can't talk about some things but that would be awesome wouldn't it?"

Skill jumps & Tank Gun return. “Based on community feedback, Equipment Pods in Last Spartan Standing will now feature all equipment, rather than just Power Equipment.”

I don't know if this is just me being gooseberry fool but I played multilayer after a while away on the new mode and there were people zipping about at stupid speeds.
The first game one guy completely obliterated everyone and seemed to be just constantly using the dash item.
Is this a known cheat or am I just behind the times?

So, following the Season 2 patch, Halo Infinite is in a better place than it was, with some long-standing issues finally resolved, even though several frustrating technical issues persist. All of these bugbears feel like fixable problems, so I hope we continue to see patches addressing them moving forward. After all, there's a great game here hiding behind these technical concerns, and more people should be able to experience it now following the Season 2 patch.

The new map with the bridges and corridors is strawberry floating terrible. It promotes camping and as soon as one team gets an advantage and sticks together they become unstoppable.
In my experience when you die the game decides to put me as far away from my team members as it can so even if I try and regroup I just get destroyed by combined fire I have ho hope of countering.

Easily the worst map in the game.

Fracture: Entrenched will feature 6 times during Season 2 to allow you to complete the free 30 tier event pass.

Image

For the five recurrences of the Fracture: Entrenched event, we will be releasing a five-part tie-in story that is directed by the community—by you!

‘THE LAST SKY MARSHAL’ is the first of what we are calling Story Shards. Hosted on Waypoint, this will be a choose your own adventure-style story set in the Entrenched universe, told over five parts. Parts 1-4 will feature a cliffhanger where a dilemma will be presented, and the community will vote on where the story goes next. What choice will be made? How will it end? That’s up to you...

Keep an eye out for Part 1 of ‘The Last Sky Marshal’ here on Waypoint when the Entrenched event returns in June!

Event Challenges for Fracture: Entrenched center around the event playlist, Land Grab.

Divide the enemy, conquer the zone.

Land Grab comes to Halo Infinite during the Fracture: Entrenched Event and will become a rotational playlist when the Event is over.

In this new objective-based arena mode, both teams fight for control over three neutral zones. Players score one point for each successful capture and will trigger intermission after the successful capture of all three zones. After intermission, new neutral zones become available for capture. The first team to score 11 points wins.
