They must have had an inkling that it lacked graphical wow, especially as the marquee title for "the world's most powerful console". So for this extended gameplay reveal, they should have shown off Halo's other selling points: the epic spectacle and battles.

I think lots of people missed the gameplay trailer as it wasn't part of the show, it looks pretty good.

I haven't been keeping up with the thread, but the vitriol the reveal received is pretty ... harsh? A hell of a lot can change in the months leading up to release, and there could have been a lot of work being undertaken under the hood before get the final graphical fidelity options added.

Granted it wasn't the best technical showcase, but I think it got it's pole position place due to name alone. People would have bitched if was further down the running order, so they were damned if they did and damned if they didn't. It's been known for a while it would be a cross-generational release so I don't know people are losing their minds over the fact it's not comparable to a Blizzard cinematic. It's looks pretty decent? Wait and see is all I'm saying.

A bit like a better version of ODST then? That had a hub world where you could travel to and from the next area.

Remember I have 3, odst and reach (I'm pretty sure). Which order should I play those in?

I'd play them in that order if I were you. Reach is chronologically first and ODST takes place before 3 as well but I don't think you will gain anything from playing them in that way.

3 damn fine games :datass:

If you can I'd play the MCC versions, 4K/60FPS makes a huge difference.

Chronologically it's Reach>ODST>3 but having played a fair bit of Reach It's not as good as I thought. I didn't actually REMEMBER REACH. Quality wise its Halo 3 > ODST >>>>>>>Reach.

In release order is fine. ODST takes place during Halo 2 and Reach is chronologically the first game.

Without being too pedantic, ODST takes place between 2 and 3... :shifty:

I love that you see the end of Halo 2 from an entirely different point of view at the start of ODST.

I'll start 3 as my next game then I think. I've got so much on my 360 that I've never touched.

The slipspace jump happens at the end of Halo 2? That game is so forgettable I barely remember anything other than that.

Halo 2 is weird, I HATED the campaign back in the day but now, looking back it expands the story of the trilogy far more than CE or 3 so I kind of think it's better now. Yeah the slipspace jump that throws New Mombassa into turmoil and wrecks their drop happens at the very end of Halo 2.

Don't all of the Bungie Halo games take place during a single year in terms of chronology? Pretty busy year!
