Halo Infinite (XB/PC/Cloud/Game Pass) - Big Update out now.

This sounds great. Hype increasing. Not touching the MP, enjoying BF2042 despite the issues.

Halo Infinite looks pretty good. I'd buy XSX just for this. :slol:

An update for the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta was released on November 19th, 2021, at 8 AM PT. The following improvements and fixes were included in this update:

Halo Credits purchased outside of Steam, for example in the Microsoft Store, are now reflected when playing Halo Infinite on Steam
Oddball rounds now have a 5-minute timer in matchmaking
Stability improvements in Big Team Battle matches
Various service-related improvements

Expected download size for the update:

Microsoft Store and Xbox app: max size of 720mb
Xbox consoles: max size of 710mb
Steam: max size of 130mb

Just played big team mode or whatever it is with Chalky and we did surprisingly well.
I amazingly wasn't terrible despite never having played Halo multiplayer before and having no idea what a few of the game modes were.

This is looking great, a welcome return to form for the series.

Campaign multiplayer unlocks -

Hearing that voice saying "Double Kill" and "Killing Spree" (haven't gotten any better than that yet) has taken be back to being 15/16 again and playing 360 online with mates after school :wub:

I presume the campaign also provides XP and Challenges towards the battle pass? The fact say say "Do X in PVP" suggests so.

I tried it. The formula hasn’t changed too much (arguably it doesn’t need to) but the Assault rifles don’t feel very precise, you normally need a grenade to drop the shield and/or a melee to finish em off.

Maybe with a squad it’ll bring back those halo/halo 2 Xbox live feels, but for me the MP scene has moved on a bit. Despite BF’s issues, and there are lots, I prefer the core gameplay.

I'm actually a lot better at this than I thought I'd be.
I think it's the much longer ttk as I honestly suck out loud at games like CoD or fortnite.
I feel I have a chance even with my piss poor reaction times to respond to being shot rather than just being dead before I know what's happening.
I know I'm not great but I expected to be terrible and I'm quite happy to be in the middle of scoreboards and have a chance to be in the top few every now and then.
It's just a shame that nobody ever uses a mic as I honestly have no idea if it works as I've never used my xbox for online gaming with anyone before.

Oooooook. I’m not having a go. But it’s not new. It’s very familiar. It brings back lots of good memories of halo 2 on Xbox live, and other halo MP. But it’s ok to enjoy the mechanics of other games..

The assault rifles aren’t the best. As starting weapons the most effective way to get kills is softening up with grenades. It’s why there is a lot of it.

In ranked you start with a battle rifle. I’m also a big BF fan but it’s the ‘why not both?’ meme.
