PostRe: Halo TV Series - 9 eps. Thursdays on Paramount+ US, 22nd June in UK. Renewed for 2nd season.

Paramount have announced pricing for the UK as £6.99 per month or £69.90 per year.

Initially available on Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Samsung TV (2017+) and Sky Q. Looks like console owners will have to wait a bit.

According to early McDonald’s marketing blurb, subscription passes will also be available to win during their Monopoly promotion coming this summer.

Do you mean the bolded are just getting app support? I would still need to pay if I had a Samsung TV?

Yes, just native or in-built app support. Outside of Sky and McDonald's there's no other promotions that I've seen yet, though I'm sure there will be (such as a free trial period).

As far as I can tell only Netflix don't seem to do any discounting.

Yeah, it felt like a proper filler episode, which was a bit disappointing considering there's only nine episodes

Can't believe they killed off Burn Gorman, though. His hamming it up was the best part of the Madrigal sections

It's looking like the finale *is* going to end up being the fall of Reach, then :shifty:

Who on earth decided that a Halo adaptation needed more sex scenes, though? That fingernail bit too... :dread:

I wish Chief in the game was as sturdy as TV show Chief. No armour and he get pulverized by two fully armed spartans but keeps getting up

I thought last weeks episode was the worst, seems this was an equal.

The worst part wasn't the acting, overall it is decent but the script, oh man the script.

Thought there were 10 episodes so I didn't realise this week was going to be the finale.

Was nice to end on a decent action episode.

Always enjoy seeing the grunts, especially sleeping.
I did enjoy Cortana taking over Chief's body. Made him feel much more like the unstoppable force from the games. Up till now he was always impressive but not much more so than the other Spartans. Just needs to do that while he's awake now.

Didn't wrap up how I expected. Was genuinely expecting the fall of reach, but I guess they might want to string that out over a decent chunk of the next season.

Fully expecting Chief to be out of play for a while though.

So yeah, it was a bit uneven in places but I mostly enjoyed it. Not gonna win any awards, but I'm looking forward to next season.

It's alright, tbf. If you're a decent fan of the games then it's worth a watch, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.

Finale was... ok.

Bit weird they'd kill Makee off so early, so I can only assume she somehow survives and the covenant continue to use her against the humans. Why wouldn't Kai just shove her away from the artifact? Wonder if Chief taking the artifacts back is going to be what then triggers the attack on Reach.

The Halsey-clone reveal  Glad they killed off her creepy little sidekick, too.

Thought the big battle at the end was a bit of a bizarre situation. Best bit was Chief droppin in and landing on the Grunt  They kind of wrote themselves into a corner with the whole "oh it turns out there were hundreds of enemies hidden inside the planet I just couldn't see so now I have to take over your brain to fight everyone off" thing. I was hoping for like, a decent brawl with some regular covenants and then a Hunter reveal or something. Cortana crashing the Pelican into the Brute

Paramount+, launching in the UK on June 22, will not support 4K, High Dynamic Range or Dolby Atmos audio at launch. Instead Paramount+ will only support Full HD (1080p), with plans to add 4K “in the future”.

Channel 5 has announced that the first episode of Halo will air at 10pm on Wednesday 22nd June. Presumably also available on My5 thereafter.
