I would also much prefer random members of the public, although it's interesting in that Rab interview he notes how the guests being streamers and the like meant they were comfortable on camera.

But also yes the term "content creator" is horribly dystopian

Refusing to watch this unless they do episodes with Joe Public as guests.

Which is massively hypocritical of me as I really enjoyed the Digitiser series a few years back but :simper:

TV show would be better if the people featured on it did not have personalities

You can always tell a youtuber a mile of, as they always constantly wave their hands about up near their face like they're performing a magic trick.

Oh and my Mrs asked if the audience "are the people from your game forum" :lol:

She also said i should be a content creator, so I could produce the world's most miserable content.

One thing to consider as well is that between Twitch and Youtube, people can see people play games whenever they want. It's not a novelty anymore.

So watching wee Davey shoot his mum in Halo while she fumbles with the controls doesn't necessarily cut it anymore.

Actually I think I would prefer all the guests (contestants?) were just really good at the game they are playing, and failing that it's less annoying to see a random member of the public be bad at a game than someone who plays them for a living. I like that guy who played Cuphead for example as they had it nailed.

I think it's largely just down to the logistics of making the show which I'm guessing didn't have a huge budget or lots of time - low key streamers and YouTubers would have been available, cheap and competent enough to make everything work smoothly.

Hopefully if it gets picked up for more episodes we would see a greater spread of contests

I've not watched this yet but I hear Grado is on it so that's a reason not to watch it.

This series was absolute trash. It's great some people here enjoyed it, but for me it never rose above incredibly embarassing.

I saw a readers letter on the Metro web site the other day, and it summed my thoughts up perfectly. I cant find the link now, but just try and imagine it made some really strong arguements for why it was rubbish.

How do I become a content creator?

Finally got round to watching the third episode and I thought that was great, would love to see what the team could do if given the opportunity to develop a full series. Rab is the perfect successor to Dominik Diamond.

Has anyone picked up the new GamesMaster oral history book? I see it’s out now and wondered if it’s worth buying

Distribution has been a bit slow from what I have read elsewhere. Would also be interested to hear opinions on it when it is widely available.

I thought it was awful, but many here seemed to enjoy this "reboot", so.... be excited.

Just need confirmation that Rab, Frankie, the other guy and big Trevor are back as well.

Hoping for a longer run and a broader spread of competitors. Too many wacky youtube/twitch wankers. More Joe Public and actually good players please.

Yeah I really enjoyed it, would love more of the same but it sounds like they have plans to revamp it in some ways which leaves me slightly concerned...
