Has anybody bought from City Gamez / CityGamez.com?

Has anyone ever used City Gamez / CityGamez? (CityGamez.com) I made an order on March 1st for Little Nightmares 2 TV Edition, I had to make the order as a guest as the the site would not allow me to register, taking me to an error page every time I tried. As of yet it still says that it's processing the order but I'm getting more and more dubious by the day. I've sent a couple of emails trying to just cancel the order but haven't had any reply. They've taken the money from my account and I'm getting a bad feeling that I've been ripped off.

Well they aren't even on the first page of search results so I don't even know who they are

Looks a bit odd. The company seems to be based in the USA - the phone number is from Arkansas, USA - although the page mentions a store address in London ("Commodity Quay St Katharine's & Wapping, London"). The "About Us" page has some very poor wording and they even sign themselves as "City gmaze store" :lol:

. The shop photos are old; they appear to have the PS3 as the latest console.

Edit: Lots of links don't work on the site... and they even have pictures indicating "only at GAME"

Edit 2: Yeah, lots of game artwork appears to have been copied from GAME's website.

Looks sketchy as strawberry float to be honest.

- contact address in UK
- parts of the website just don't work
- seems to suggest that it sells TVs, cameras, printers, phones, etc, but doesn't let you see them
- full of spelling mistakes and oddly written text (the About US section is quite funny to read though)

Doesn't look like they take PayPal, so I'm assuming you weren't able to pay with that (and therefore perhaps be entitled to some kind of buyer protection), which is unfortunate.

I wouldn't expect to see the game arrive if I were you.

Should’ve called themselves Gamez City instead.

The director's address is in India, so the UK address is likely just a virtual presence, possibly a 'drop shipping' style set-up. It may well have been started with the best of intentions but the reality of launching something like this during Covid probably set in once the site was up and orders came in. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt here - if you were going to scam people with a shop like this you'd probably go for higher value goods.

How did you pay? I expect you can get reimbursed from your credit card company or paypal if you used that.

I'm sorry that you've been scammed but at least this thread has brought smiles to a few faces today :lol:

I also wouldn't buy from any company that uses 2 for to, or 4 in place of for.

If you paid by credit card you might be able to get your money back if you've been scammed

Just contact your bank with the details and get them to do a chargeback (assuming they provide this service, most UK banks do) or a Section 75 refund (if it's over £100).

Don't leave it too long though.

They'll also sell you Lego city undercover
