But in my eye, yes, the lack of a sound line-up (in my eyes) for Christmas has ensured that Nintendo doesn't get a penny of my money for the rest of this year. I've also bought my first ever non-Nintendo console too. :\
I think one area in which they haved ballsed up with their lineup is that the 360 and PS3 will dominate the specialist press over the next few months in terms of game coverage which could heighten the preception among core gamers that the Wii isn't the console for them and that they would get more value for money with the 360 or PS3. The big problem with that is for all their supposed failings "core" are still an important part of the market when it comes to supporting niche titles like No More Heroes and possibly Madworld. Even Animal Crossing, Nintendos big casual game this winter, originally got a PAL release on the Gamecube over here because the core community had been so vocal that they wanted to play it.
Take the rhythm action genre for another example. It was "core" gamers that bought titles like Frequency and Amplitude and supported Harmonix before they made Guitar Hero which went on to be a huge hit and popularised music games to such a degree that they are now one of the main drivers behind industry growth. If the core gamers desert the Wii ( highly unlikely I will admit) it might damage one of the Wiis strengths of being the console which is the safest option, relatively speaking, to release new and experimental titles on and those games might end up on PSN or XBLA like games such as Flower, Pixeljunk and Braid already have.

The Gamer's definition of "balls up" is basically not doing what we want to do. We're this close to screaming and screaming until we're sick, and stamping our feet really loudly.
Means I can spend more money on next gen games so I'm quite pleased about it. I have 18 360/PS3 games on order for 2008 so Nintendo doing no core games has done me a favour.
