Frig me!

I'm currently looking for a new monitor and was planning on the 42" LG C2, but now could get 48" for same price! :o

is 48" too large for a PC monitor? Could mount it on the wall behind my desk so would be approx 2-3 feet away.

I use a 75 for mine and with Windows 10 to 4K HDR it’s so nice to use for a work screen at about 10 foot away

That link seems to show it's a refurbished TV rather than a brand new TV but from the 2021 product range?

The C1 is a great TV (I bought it late last year), but I've never bought a refurbished electronic product, rightly or wrongly, I always fear it would be a lemon. I'd have expected it to be cheaper for a refurbished unit though.

I wouldn't do it mate. No telling what it's been through, and I reckon there will be some good deals for the C1 in the run up to Xmas. Really you need the oracle to confirm though.

South Korean company, but never seen them in a shop. Wouldn’t be surprised if they make a lot of batteries for own-brand.

Refurbished and used products can be alright (I purchased a refurbished Sony alarm clock and it’s worked for almost 10 years) but often the warranties are too short. £750 is still a lot of money, especially when for a grand you can get a brand new OLED TV that will come with a 5 year warranty. I’ve seen that particular TV go for £900 with a 6 year warranty and 0% APR for 12 months so I don’t think the saving is worth the risk. If that packs up in a little over a year LG are going to clean you out repairing it.

Mate, no joke, this is literally the worst time of the year to replace your wand batteries.

New models will be released in October and they wil cut prices on the current line. Not forgetting Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I genuiinely hate that remote, really wish they'd provided an optional standard remote as an alternative.

I hardly ever use it as a pointer. Seems to work fine as a regular remote.

Aye. If you didn't know, you can navigate using the d-pad.

I use it as a mix of both.

LG Display sees record losses after collapse in demand for OLED televisions

The South Korean manufacturer reported a staggering operating loss for Q3 of $540 million, down from the $370 million the company recorded a year earlier.

The company stated that demand for its premium OLED panels and TVs in particular had dropped to an "unprecedented level", with sales especially bad in Europe.

LG has put the blame on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and rising inflation for waning demand.

The company now says it plans to cut its 2022 investment budget by over $700 million while also “flexibly operating” its OLED production lines to match demand.

Not surprising. A new TV is surely among the first budget cuts a household will make.

Never seen reviews of 'em or anything, but I'm sure it'll be fine for a bedroom set. More importantly, pics of set son destroyed, pls.

Can anyone help please.

I'm looking for a new TV as my current one is six years old.

I want a new TV for PS5 with HDMI 2.1, 120hz and VRR features. So, which is the best TV to buy one and I may grab it on sale on Boxing Day or January sale.

Give me the choices and the size is either 55" or 65" depends on the budget.

Cheers.

Any of these 5. If gaming is your only or main consideration, bin off the Sony. If you want in-built satellite tuners, bin off the Panasonic.

LG B2 (£1,100 or less)
LG C2 (£1,200 or less)
LG G2 (£1,500 or less) - wall mountable only. There is a separate stand but it seems to be rather difficult to get hold of.
Panasonic LZ2000 (£2,000 or less)
Sony A9 (£2,100 or less)

They’re all OLED, 4K and 55”. The more expensive models do get a bit brighter than the cheaper televisions.
