If money was no object how large would you go with a TV in the room you use it?
I have my TV in my bedroom and have a 55-inch set and I think I could just about get away with possibly a 65-inch set before it starts getting totally stupid.

If I wall-mounted it above the fireplace ( :dread: ) I could probably push to 65", but in the corner ( :dread: :dread: ), 55" really is my limit for the living room. I'm about 7ft away from it.

I've got a 65" tv and I could comfortably have an 85" tv. 95" if such a thing exists.

If money was no object, I’d buy a larger house with a full-size cinema screen.

65 is probably my limit atm, we're pretty close to the screen. 75 would mean struggling to see the whole thing at once.

I've just decorated my front room and I'm thinking of upgrading from a 55" to a 65" TV and wall mounting it. I think anything bigger would be a little too much for the room...though covering most the wall with a TV is a tempting thought.

2021 43" QN90A Neo QLED

Yes, no, maybe?

Will be used primarily for gaming.

Yes, especially if its primary use is gaming. Only the one HDMI 2.1 port though, and no Dolby Vision support.

Samsung are however one of the worst offenders of the big 4 for selling different versions with different parts and end codes in different retailers for what many would naturally expect to be the same TV. For example the European model of the QN90A is different to its US counterpart. It's a right pain in the arse as you think you're getting a great bargain and all you're getting is a worse product.

You could probably pick up an LG OLED for roughly the same price, which would be superior in every way bar brightness (HDR can get loads brighter on a Samsung LED, making it more ideal for bright rooms) and potential screen burn.

Get a bigger screen, ideally 60"+

If it was my money I'd buy the LG OLED48C16LA. It's £1,099 or less. 5 year guarantee included at John Lewis.

Will have a look at a few LGs, Thanks for the info!

Doesn't fit where the TV is going. 43 I think is the limit.

I think the obvious solution is to buy a bigger house so you can get a larger TV.

Just had a look, 48 is the smallest they do, no?

That's why I've been looking at the Samsung as they're doing 43" versions.

Or reinforce the mantlepiece / enlarge the corner / move the L shaped sofa back a bit

This is the TV you need to be getting these days to really make the neighbours jealous.

Yes, 48" is the smallest OLED from LG and Sony.

At 43" your only real choices are the Sony X89J or Samsung QN90A. The feature set is pretty similar. The Sony doesn't have variable refresh rate support yet (Sony has promised it in a firmware update...if you trust them) and the Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision HDR.

I would think Currys would have both set-up in store for you to look at, along with the LG C1 OLED.

Buy this, convert it back to a cinema and then live there: https://www.bp2property.com/properties?id=191
