Over two years since I bought mine. Still marvel at the quality. Fantastic piece of kit.

I bought an LG CX Oled in July. About a month in it kept randomly restarting itself, so I did a factory reset and that seemed to resolve it.

Turned it on this evening, and after about five minutes it started repeatedly resetting itself. Managed to get into the menu long enough to try a factory reset, and now it is just frozen on the restart screen and can only be turned off by unplugging from the wall

Very disappointed, as this replaced an 11 year-old LG that I didn’t have a single problem with in all the time I had it.

I'm moving into a new apartment with a bigger living room so have been considering upgrading the TV that's in there. Don't have any console but might pick up a PS4 or 5 so I can make the most of HD.

Unfortunately my job right now is very precarious and I shouldn't really be splashing out. I'd like a 65 inch tv ideally but spending a grand plus is out the window.

Are there any good sets that folk are aware of which I'll be impressed by, but that have a focus on budget price? Bare in mind my current TV is probably 6+ years old so I'm not needing the most amazing up to date model, anything newish should be an impressive step up.

Actually the Samsung ue65tu7100 is looking pretty good for my needs and is about as far as I could stretch budget wise. Can't see anything huge missing in it that is available from the more expensive models although I may be missing something, know strawberry float all about TVs.

Shopping is somewhat annoying me now. The model names are ridiculous where it's a 20 string long mess of characters, and they don't seem to tally up between the models on sale in Poland those in the UK. It's making it very difficult to narrow selections down.

Unfortunately that's very much on purpose to make comparisons as difficult as possible.

I deal with professional LFDs a lot with work and that's just as bad. New models every year that do strawberry float all to improve on the previous generation, but cost 20% more until you call them out on it. Pain in the damn arse.

But considering you're not going full OLED I don't think you can go too wrong with Samsung's offerings.

Looks like I'm upgrading from a 32" FHD LED 2014 Samsung to most likely a 65" UHD LED 2020 Samsung, so I would hope there would be a really noticeable improvement. Beyond the bigger screen obviously.

I need to measure my new living room next time I'm there but my sofa is definitely really far away from where the TV would be. Probably a good 3.5m.

From reading up on 4k it seems as though I'll notice zero picture benefit over 1080p at that range. Is that the case in people's experience?

Ignore that and buy the best tv you can afford. Most people going on about that are trying to make themselves feel better about buying a lesser tv.

Narrowed it down to a 65" Samsung or LG. Think I'll probably end up going LG as their budget UHD range seem to review better. Found the UM7450 at a decent price so leaning there.

In general LG make better panels currently even if it is really close, so if that particular one reviews better than I'd go for it.

In the end I've moved away from the sets I was previously looking at and have settled on the TCL 65EC780.

Got a heavily discounted price which sealed the deal for me - it's mid price but has Dolby Vision and Audio as well as HDR. Also has an inbuilt Onkyo soundbar which has been getting good reviews.

Any updates on this? I’m getting worried about the fate of mine now.

Not had a single issue with mine other than replacing the batteries in the remote. You get a five year warranty so you should be golden.

It was terminal. Took me three weeks of constantly having to phone Richer Sounds’ customer service, but they have finally delivered me a new one (still waiting for a new receipt though).

Decided I'm finally going to upgrade to a 4K TV in time for the new consoles coming out.

Can't be any bigger than 43 inches
Budget is probably £500, could maybe stretch to £550
It'll be going on top of a Ikea Kallax 2x2 unit which is 77.2cm, so it must be able to fit on top of that (wall mounting isn't an option)
Must be good for gaming.

No idea what makes are the best or what I should be looking for, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat actually. I've not bought a TV in years as I've been on the move so much, but hopefully settling so want a nice new TV in that kind of size and price range.

One thing I'm curious about is Smart TV's. I'm under the impression their are a few different options? My dad has an Android TV which seems pretty cool, but not sure what is the best type to go for.
