Ordered the 65 inch LG B9 from Curry's as they had a £100 off code, and there's potential of £100 cashback through Quidco although Curry's are notorious for not paying, so not really counting on that. Yesterday I bought a Sonos Beam and two Sonos Ones, so can't wait to get it all set up tomorrow. Been using a 32 inch LCD with a pair of £30 Logitech speakers for the last 13 years so expecting my mind to be blown.

If you don’t care for using the Android Smart features (sluggish), this is a great TV.

Wall mounting is like a prison for TV's :cry:

So not played any games on the new OLED, but my word, Our Planet on Netflix was stunning. Really excited about 4K/HDR Football in the week through Amazon.

Genuine question from someone who has zero interest in football, what difference does watching it in 4K actually make?

Other than being able to see every hair in Jurgen Klopp's beard.

It's odd as for me it's the little things like the crowd being clearer (even though I don't give a stuff about them so even to me that makes no sense) and the action being easier to follow. I wouldn't say it's a huge improvement that means I can never watch anything else but it is somehow better.

Has anyone had any issues with Freesat? My tv downstairs (big Samsung tv not 4K) works fine but I got a new tv for upstairs (a Samsung 4K tv) and it worked for around a week and now I can’t get any channels at all, I have tried trimming the cable and attaching it again but nothing, everything that requires the internet works fine, the only thing I can think of doing is buying a freesat set top box and if that works I will know it’s the tv that’s broken and if it doesn’t then it’s the cable from the dish, I read the stringy bits should never touch the middle of the cable, if they have does it ruin the cable?

The hairy bits of the cable shouldnt be touching the inner core. It isnt a permanent issue if its happened, might be best to rescan the channels after you have remade the end.

Desperately regret getting the non OLED Sony instead though, its a decent enough screen but the Android OS is woeful.

As for using a decent audio setup instead of the TV speakers :datass:

I only have a 2.1 soundbar (Yamaha) but the difference it makes is incredible.

I'm looking for some advice. Is it worth buying the Samsung 8K TV? Is it better than LG and Sony OLED? I was looking in Curry's and there isn't that much price difference only a few hundred

And is there anywhere I can buy 8K movies and what are they? Thanks.

I don’t think anywhere is doing 8K movies yet.

Think you have to be a bit of a lunatic to buy an 8k right now. By the time the content is sufficiently in place to make your purchase worthwhile, your model will be half a decade out of date.

Shhhhh, don't put off the early adopters otherwise the price will never come down for the rest of us plebs.
