legit.I've had my "new" TV for over a year now and, after watching that vid, adjusted my TV... and the picture is better!
So, yeah, turn off "light sensor", "auto brightness" or whatever your TV calls it. It will mean that the TV uses slightly more juice but - as the guy says! - just boil the kettle a couple of times less over the course of the year!
If you're a Sony (Google) user, I found the setting by going into Settings (on the top bar of the screen), then Display & Sound, then Picture, then Light Sensor; set it to Off. You can also access the Light Sensor on/off option directly via the Settings button on your remote - but you initially have to edit the options here to include Light Sensor.
My TV picture now looks brighter and sharper; at least during daytime lighting. Will check it out tonight once it's darker, too. So, thank you to HDTVTest on YouTube
