That reads like you think women give birth to girls and men give birth to sons.

You think children just magically appear out of thin air?

You think children don’t arrive by stork?

You think I think anything?

Wow that's so nice c:

Check out the stalls to see if any are selling Gamecube or other retro games, wonder around the other stalls and look at the cool weapons, spend the rest of the day sat on the floor while a friend you came with chats up two women, except for the few moments you spot another Star Wars fan and attempt to have a lightsaber fight where the first strike breaks half of your dual-saber which you should have known would happen but wanted to at least have a feeling of being a Jedi in a fight.

Then go again almost two years later and have a much better time as you aren't hauling a broken dual-saber around, take a look around more of the stalls and actually buy something, and have a quick, nervous chat and photo with Brian Murphy.

2012-2014 sure was a good few years.

You 100% will feel a bit old (it will be full of teenagers), but there was plenty to look at during the one I went to a while ago. If you are interested in buying assorted nerdy trinkets you could probably spend a whole day just looking through the stalls.

Saying that I like to take things at a pretty relaxed pace in general so ymmv.

Ah okay, thanks!

I had thought Comic Con but then there was no way of fitting that into the initials MCM so I was all confused :P

MCM is just the organisation that organises the 'official' branded events that are known as Comic Con. The MCM is short for Movie Comic Media, with the organisation being bought out by ReedPOP in 2017.

For me, 2012 was Telford, with 2014 in Birmingham. Both had the same feel to them, though Birmingham felt the larger of the two. I can imagine the London one being a whole lot larger.

Stork? Jeeeez, theyre clearly found in the cabbage patch at the bottom of the garden after holding hands and wishing hard enough. Everyone knows that.

Christopher Lloyd is great as well.

They pretty much nailed the casting for those movies.

Saw the trailer for the new Addams Family movie a few weeks back, looked really poor to me. Not sure it's a franchise that really needed to come back in all honesty.

Yeah I'm pretty much planning on idling around the videogame and artist alley parts. I've been to RTX London the last two years where I'm not a fan of the company myself, but it was enjoyable enough for the various indie games available to play. I'm not sure MCM has much equivalent and I don't want to be joining the big queues for a quick play of big titles. A few years ago I went to Hyper Japan as my housemates got me tickets for my birthday and it was okay because Nintendo were there with BOTW pre-release but otherwise it definitely just felt like an expensive market you had to pay entry to, so that's my expectation for MCM going in except it being bigger. If I can find some cool art then it won't be a complete loss. My girlfriend is mainly going as a meetup with internet friends so hopefully the social aspect pays off.

I last went to MCM London four or five years ago, but that's more or less the experience I had each time. Videogame bits are usually worth your time and sometimes have free promotional tat, I remember playing Skyward Sword there before release, and another time I got a cool lenticular Revengeance poster.

As you say, the artist's alley and videogame booths would probably be my main draw nowadays, rather than the swaths of Chinese knock-off tat and massively overpriced retro game/toy/card stalls.

Don't forget about the stalls which are just a solid wall of Funko Pops.

Surely it's just a few lined with Funko Pops right? I mean how many of the stalls can be like that?

"Ooh! Cool-looking weapons!" Can't get to them as there's a solid wall of Funko Pop.
"A Gamecube game I've been wanting to get for ages but has always been overpriced online!" Boxed in by a cleverly created Funko Pop shelf that allows you to look but not take.
"Yu-Gi-Oh cards galore! Let me at them!" Enjoy climbing the Funko Tower to get at them.

Actually, these days I think it's more likely "Wow! This entire convention hall is built out of Funko Pops," would be a thing.

Funko is as widespread, and almost as bad, as Rule 34. If it exists, there's a funko of it.

I honest to god don't know who any of those people are supposed to be besides the Tenth, and one of the others has his pissing name on the box.
