:lol: how do staff in shops react to £50 notes because in my experience around here you would get less of a reaction if you tried paying in buttons, the only thing I find confusing about Scottish notes is with the £20 notes with the different designs still in circulation and can understand why some staff in shops if they have not been trained/told which notes are current or even what they should look like

It's rare-ish, but £50 notes are currency like any other note. I haven't seen any older notes for a while, but it's just 3 banks' worth, so it's not that hard to keep track.
